THE BIBLE CONDEMNS NAGGING IN MARRIAGE

The Apostle Paul advised, “Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. (1 Corinthians 7:2-5)This is what the scripture says about sexual intercourse. This is one point which Satan uses to trick some husbands and wives. Sometimes no man or woman outside the marriage knows exactly what is amiss between a husband and wife. Sometimes this fact is hidden from the neighbours and relations of the couple. Sometimes the husband or wife report to relations about maltreatment of spouse. It is Satan’s will to make wives kick out their husbands using nagging. This he does to re direct them so that the time of prayer or godly activity will be used to discuss a matter that can be settled by the husband and wife themselves. The husband and wife if not a disciplined child of God goes out in search of other women and men respectively where he or she will satisfy his or her sexual urge. The wife goes about complaining to the entire world that her husband does not take care of her, but at night she faces the wall or goes to sleep with the children or in the children’s bedroom so that her husband will not have intercourse with her.
Also, there are some husbands who scold their wives as if their wives are mere children. The result of all the mentioned issues above generate scolding the wife and quarrel with the husband. This is because Satan has used her to turn herself to a statue of no value in her own family. Nagging does not breed a good atmosphere in marriage. Some couples indicate their presence at home by the wife running away from her husband out of the bedroom severally during the day and night. She runs to her friends with complaints against her husband. She is the only one who knows why there is trouble between her and her husband. There are also men who continue to exchange bitter words with their wives day in day out. There are wives that slap, kick and push their husbands especially when they deceive the young men and marry them as baby husbands.
Nagging includes when a husband does not bring out money for food when he has money to feed his family. Nagging raises quarrels, and is a strong excuse for men and women to abandon their legitimate spouses to the bosom of those who will cherish and treat them kindly. Nagging is a sickness in marriage. It can only be cured by the couple by mutual submissions. St Paul writes to the Ephesians’ Church and couples in marriage, thus,” Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God”(Ephesians 5:21).Failure to do this, the couple in a marriage are described by the Psalmist, thus,” I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top”. Do you want to be alone as a husband or wife even when your spouse is there?

    • Mmmhhh what can i say,i cannot say that i was aware about nagging in the bible i only used to hear it from people that are around me. Probably its because i wasen't married then to know what nagging is all about. But as i grow older i get to understand more and more.
First and foremost i wouldn't say people nag especially when men say that women nag them so much. Its not nagging really the thing is when they ask for something once and its not done by their husbands thats when they will keep asking over and over again then the men decide its nagging bit thats not it ai don't really agree. I will agree to some extend but not always.
