When Children ‘Hate’ their Parents

Many years ago I met an older woman who was an icon.  She had been with Marcus Garvey’s Organisation, was a broadcaster, and had a fantastic personality.   She was interviewed and hailed not only in Jamaica but other places in the world.

Yet, her children ‘hated’ her.  They left her and went on with their lives in another country.

Because she was so strong it didn’t cause much dislocation in her life.  In fact, she was able to talk to other women who had experienced similar situations.   Many of these other women had been very successful and were almost as important as she was.

Did the children resent her importance?

Did they feel they could never live up to her and so choose to ‘escape’ her power?

The interesting thing was that while we were talking about this, I recalled the anger of Nelson Mandela’s children.  One said, “He is no Father to Me!”

A man who sacrificed so much, a man who went to prison, a man who is considered a hero all over the world, is not so thought of by his own family.

I was stunned when I heard it, assuming it was a joke… but it wasn’t.

Over the years since that conversation I have seen many children who are angry at their parents because; “I never had a Birthday Party!”  or “She never took me to the Zoo!”

Instead of being warmed by the achievements of their parents, they would prefer a perfectly common person who did little more than make breakfast.

Recently, I told these things to another woman who was totally distraught by her children’s rejection, for very much the same things.

Children can be very selfish, very self centred.  They can see the world from the pinnacle of Spoiled Brat who needs to be the focus of their parents.  Parents with ambition, parents who have gone on to achieve great things can not expect a rooting gallery from the child who would have preferred Apartheid and a Daddy who worked in a mine, than a father who worked to free millions of people

    • Children never hare parents because men cannot hate their own body part infected or healthy so far as the children hate parents question is concerned it is no problem, yea, when parents hurt the children' ego and self public respect they start hating the parents and their reason is right.

Everyone know that children hate parents but one tries to know why the children hate and what are the real causes of hate. I am a professional a sstrologer on internet and Fiverr.com. Most of the questions I receive belong to children hate parents and when i trace the the real causes of hate I came to know that the children's self respect an ego both made hurt by parents.

Thus children fall prey to loneliness and bad habit and adopt other means to pass time and tell their sorrows to other friends and thus they guide then what to do in this condition in the light of their life experience.

Parents children is a deep link and no parent ignores it but I wonder I have seen many children to whom parents pay no attention at home and remain busy with useless works. Keep in mind situation shapes children's trends for future years.

But the situation creator become parents at home and thus children parents hate start. I think, parents must mend their behavior at home and pay some attention to their children leaving day and night railleries.
