Wow! Love your recipe! I also love cooking at home and learn from my mom since i was a kid. Another recipe to do! Thanks for sharing.
-
It is quite easy to make and the taste is GORGEOUS! Perfectly tender chicken, delicious sauce, yummy veggies… I fried potatoes and carrots separately before adding them to the dish. For this reason they didn’t absorb the sauce and have a different texture which brings a bit of a different flavor for this meal. Total deliciousness!
Ingredients
2 lbs chicken drumsticks, skin on
3-4 small potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 carrot, chopped
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced into strips
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 red onion, chopped
1 (14 oz.) can tomato puree
1 can (8 oz.) pineapple chunks, drained (reserve syrup)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 dried bay leaves
½ cup green peas
salt and pepper, to taste
6 tablespoons cooking oil, divided
Instructions
In a big pan over medium heat, heat 4 tablespoons of oil. Add potatoes and cook for about 1 minute. Then add carrot and cook for about 2 minutes. Add bell pepper and cook for about 1 minute. Remove all vegetables from pan and drain on paper towels.Warm the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil in the same pan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes. Then add chicken and brown it slightly. Add the tomato puree, pineapple syrup, soy sauce, and bay leaves.
Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the chicken is almost tender. Stir occasionally.
Add potatoes, yellow bell pepper, carrots, and pineapple chunks and continue to cook for 5-6 minutes, or until the potatoes are cooked. Add the green peas, season with salt and pepper and cook for 2 minutes more. Serve hot. Enjoy!

Anything to do with my finger nails has always been a struggle. as much as i like having my nails looking good all the time i am more comfortable with my natural nails. i would rather take the time an try to grow them other than put acrylics or gel nails i feel very uncomfortable.
-
I think I get what you mean about that “sensation” after applying nail polish. Sometimes it feels weird but I guess over time, I outgrew it and just got used to it. I used to have mine au naturale as well but I was trying to find something different to do that’s why I resorted to this 🙂

They are so good.
-
Yeah they are! And it is so hard to stop munching on these after opening a packet. If not for the calories or the sugar, I’d more likely finish a bag in an hour or so, LOL!

Used to think that only graham crackers could be used as the crust for cheesecake. Then I realized that you could grind up any cookie and use it for crust. This cookie would make a great crust for a cheesecake.
-
That’s a great tip – thanks for sharing! Haven’t tried using cookies apart from gingerbread to use as cheesecake crust. But now that you mention it, I think it is worth a try. 🙂 I agree with you it seems like a nice idea and would make the cheesecake a lot tastier, too.
-
-
One would never think that cookies with the same ingredients would taste different with different brands. What do you feel that has made this brand taste different and better?
-
Oh, this is a different type of cookie. The one I buy for cheaper price is the typical chocolate chip cookie and this one is pistachio and almond. I mean, Tesco’s have decent tasting products but they don’t offer a “budget range” for these types of cookies probably because the ingredients costs more so they can’t offer it for “less”.
-
-
Ooohh goodness those cookies look so good i also love snacking most of the time i always find myself snacking instead of cooking food and eating like am supposed to. I always knew of pistachio ice cream i have never tasted cookies, but am sure they are tasty
-
Oh yeah, pistachio ice cream is superb! Although I am a bit biased about gelato. But yeah, these are really nice to munch on and gosh, so difficult not to eat a lot of it! I try to avoid it when looking for snacks in the afternoon so I just make myself a peanut butter toast (boring).

I am not into any creams and stuff. I have a moist skin naturally.
-
Oh lucky you! I used to have really low maintenance skin and can get away without using too much lotion or creams but that changed this year, I am not sure why. That’s why these days, I need to take care of my skin and hopefully get it back as it used to.
-
-
It sounds like a great product for dry skin. Some suffer awfully bad with dry skin. Any product that can help keep skin moisturized. Appreciate the review. I’m glad the product is working and hope that you’re skin continues to get better.
-
Thanks for that and I am hoping for the same, too. It feels good to know there are products that are reasonably priced I can use when I need it instead of going to a specialist to buy something ridiculously expensive!

I am more into prompt service than being satisfied with what I eat. Places such as these always have good food. I remember the long queue at a hotel in New York.
-
Now that I think about it, it is the staff’s attention to detail that lingers long after you have dined in a restaurant. Of course, food quality is also a factor to remember a “good” restaurant. But there are times when a bad customer service experience ruins the entire dining experience no matter how fantastic the food is.
-
-
Sounds pretty good. Although the sun was beaming. It still sounds as if then meal was enjoyed and that’s a plus. Italian food is great. I’m glad the food was tasty. The restaurant sounds like a great place to hang out.
-
Yeah it is a great place to catch up with place. In fact, most of the diners are quite young probably because there are lots of HQs around the area so there were a lot of young office workers, too.
-
-
Wow! what a review. It is never easy to review a Food Item, in an original and unbiased way. Yet you have done a great job indeed.
-
Thanks for the feedback. 🙂 I really try to be as honest as possible when I review anything. I mean, I also rely on reviews to know whether the product or restaurant is something I’d like so I want to do the same thing, too.

sounds like a very nice restaurant to visit for 3-4 person and the share of food serve, I hate to admit this, from the picture, it is enough for 2 person only, me and my hubby are big eaters, we could finish off the plate in just 10 minutes!
As for the dessert, it looked delicious, pity that it is only one piece , that is sufficient for my son but not me and hubby, LOL
-
Oh, I didn’t take the other starters ordered by my husband and my friend visiting us 🙂 So apart from the Burrata salad, we had individual plates as an appetizer. That filled us up since my friend ordered a calamari and my husband ordered mussels. That’s why we decided to order “light” for the mains since we don’t want to take a lot home.

Yes Italian foods are famous all over the world especially Italian pizza at every restaurant gig or small. My friend lived there he praised more of Italian pizza,
A legend suggests that Roman soldiers gained a taste for Jewish Matzoth while stationed in Roman occupied Palestine and developed a similar food after returning home. However a recent archeological discovery has found a preserved Bronze Age pizza in the Veneto region. By the Middle Ages, these early pizzas started to take on a more modern look and taste.
The peasantry of the time used what few ingredients they could get their hands on to produce the modern pizza dough and topped it with olive oil and herbs. The introduction of the Indian Water Buffalo gave pizza another dimension with the production of mozzarella cheese. Even today, the use of fresh mozzarella di buffalo in Italian pizza cannot be substituted. While other cheeses have made their way onto pizza (usually in conjunction with fresh mozzarella), no Italian Pizzeria would ever use the dried shredded type used on so many American pizzas.
In America pizza usually falls into two categories: thick and cheesy Chicago style or thin and more traditional New York pizza. In Italy pizza also falls into two distinct categories: Italian pizza and the rest of the world. It might seem silly considering the basic ingredients, but one taste of a true Italian pizza and that’s it. You will never feel the same about this simple and delicious food again.

Good that you have found a product that helps. I can understand how painful it is. I did not try any products, as a friend recommended me to soak the nipple in the salt water, it helped to relieve some pain. I also read that using the breast milk to apply on the nipple will help too. Of course, using these natural methods are not as efficient as using those commercial products.
I am glad the pain has over for the first two children, but now have to get ready for the pain for this baby soon. 😀
-
I actually used the “natural remedies” first like using my own milk and air drying every feeding session but it was too much – my son can drink my blood (literally) every feeding. I can see some hint of red with the breastmilk when he tries to latch and maybe he doesn’t like the taste so he stops feeding on the cracked breast. I guess it is nice to find natural remedies first because it is natural and free (most of the times) but when we need to speed up the healing process, we can always turn to safe commercially-made products.
Oh, and hopefully your breastfeeding journey with your next baby won’t be as bad!

I loved Lansinoh! I used it for a ton of things, including rough and chapped skin on my hands. I love lanolin, and this formulation is so rich without being greasy or sticky. It’s a fabulous product!
-
Yeah, I didn’t know I can use it for chapped skin! That’s why I was so surprised to see that I can use it for my son’s chapped lips at the time. Well, it makes sense. If he can feed on my breast without me rinsing off the product, it should be safe if I apply on his lips, too 🙂

My make up have been just some lipstick and a brush with talcum powder even in my younger days. Now that I am a senior I need to dye my hair.
Good you found your brand.
-
I guess life is a lot simple back then. To be honest, I wouldn’t (probably) have been so much into cosmetics in skincare if I haven’t been living and working in Western countries. I think the way they present themselves in the corporate world is a lot different to how things are in my home country so I need to step up my game if I want to be taken seriously.

I started using makeup when I was a young girl thanks to my Indian friend who introduced me.Since that time I have been wearing make up since then without difficulties. My brand has always been black opal. I would recommend any lady to wear makeup once in a while it gives you a perfect and kind of different look. It is also advisable to wear makeup that suits your skin very important.
-
It’s the first time I heard of Black Opal. Is it available worldwide? I think it is important for girls to know how to look (and feel) good. I know there are some who would argue they don’t need makeup to do that and I agree but I guess it’s also a “need” especially for professionals. We don’t admit it, but “looks” are as important as skill when it comes to landing your dream job or a promotion.

i like all the makeup brands as yo uwill find good one in all tho them but, i likee boobi borwn once and i tried revlon which is little nicer, and found that the two of them are alike, so why to pay extra, pay for revlon since they no difference, but the eyeliner i like cliniaue and i use it only for nice day or parties or going on vactaion as this is really pricey makeup that you cant really use it daily unless you are totally rich and dont really get tired for money

It matters little what one eats but eating together in a new ambiance is of the essence here. Not many give value to this family bonding.
-
This is so true. Of course, we try to go to various places but there are times even a fastfood meal is enough so long as we enjoy the day with each other 🙂
-
-
Weekend is most important for family and family members because the best day hovering two holidays to enjoy weekend with family and friends.
I consider myself to have a pretty close relationship with my own family, but they live in another state, and I really don’t require seeing them more than once every 6 weeks or even being in touch more than every couple of days.
Not only is it a long commute to my boyfriend’s family’s place, but it’s also starting to get expensive paying for the commuter train both ways (we split expenses pretty evenly even though I make significantly less).
If you do not want to enjoy weekend just tell him you’re staying home this weekend. And next weekend. Tell him you’re staying home three weekends out of four (which is completely reasonable) and he’s welcome to stay with you or he’s free to go see his parents, but you live in the city because you like the urban life and the weekend is your time to enjoy that life.

It is important we stick to the timing recommended. I too use a dye that suits me. I do not like the pitch black colour that does not go with my age. I am a senior and there is a colour that matches my original hair colour perfectly.
-
Yeah, my husband used to be able to follow the timing right but I guess he was just so tired that evening. The other problem was he decided to lie down and he is the type of person who can drift off to sleep easily so that was not a smart move anyway, LOL! He also doesn’t like the black hair dye since it looks so unnatural when applied so we usually go for dark brown hair dyes for him.

We do not get Ariel Liquid detergent in the place we live, but otherwise Ariel powders are great to use.
-
Even in our home country, these liquid detergents are not that common. I also grew up only knowing of the traditional powdered detergent my Mom use to wash our clothes. Maybe because the water is not heated to a certain temperature or that some families don’t even own a washing machine so the detergent bar is still pretty much famous?
-
Also, supply of water is an issue in many a places, so many people wash many of their clothes with hands using a bucket.
Also, some good clothes like good shirts, Lady suits etc are better hand washed since there is more wear and tear in a washing machine even at “Delicate” washing setting.
Some of my shirts’ collars were damaged with frequent washing in washing machines.-
Oh, I can totally relate to that supply of water issue while I was living in our home country. I even heard from my Mom they had some issues with the water supply recently and it lasted for weeks! So terrible.
-
Yes, water issues are increasing in many countries- even in Europe!

Since I never air out my clothes in the sun I have no problem with my dark clothes getting lighter. I use a washing washing machine that dries my clothes. I just put them up inside the house for the clothes to dry completely.
-
We don’t air it out to dry as well since we are living in an apartment and we are on the third floor. But noticed that black denim jeans also fade easily with powdered detergent. Not sure if it’s because we have a front loader?
-
May be then it must be the detergent. Some detergents have heavy chemicals.
-
I am not an expert when it comes to these things but noticed great improvement to the quality of our dark colored clothes when I made the switch 🙂 I still use powdered detergent but only for our whites and light-colored clothes.

In India, there are no liquid detergents available easily in the market as I found during an inquiry. But, there are many local brands though I can not trust them easily.
But, last week I realized that it is not the Brand but the contents which have to be looked to while purchasing something new. It is really terrific. It can stand as a good competitor for other brands in the market. They are cheaper than any other Brands.
Purchasing local brands is something like encourage the product owner to take a great push.
They are cheap
They will be available in the market very easily.

I’m not familiar with this brand. But I’m happy with the brands sold in our local grocery stores. I love noodles. So quick, easy and tasty!
Tesco is mostly available in the UK/Ireland, if I’m not mistaken. Although I heard that they are starting to expand recently so there are some Asian countries where they decided to do a partnership with so they can sell their brands there.
It is possible they may be available at specialty markets here in the USA, like stores that specialize in Asian foods. Our grocers sometimes ask for suggestions. Maybe I could mention this product and they may begin to stock it. What do you think? Sound like a plan? Noodle Lovers Around the World Unite! 🙂
Sounds like a plan! 🙂 Although they might prefer the authentic Asian noodles from Asian distributors, too? As I mentioned, Tesco is a British grocery food chain so they just create own brand products for their cheap alternative range. And surprisingly, the demand for Asian goodies is increasing over here, too.
The demand for noodles must also be increasing in the USA because we now even have noodle restaurants cropping up in our neighborhood. 🙂 One of my favorite things about Asian movies is watching them eat those bowls of noodles. Every time I see a scene, I’m thinking: ‘YUM! Wish I was there!’ 🙂
When I first discovered noodles, at first I was skeptical about eating them because I never used to like eating spaghetti, and they looked just like spaghetti. So as time went by I tried them once and I loved the taste. and that is when I got hooked and it became my daily lunch time food when I was at work, given that it was the easiest food to prepare. But I stopped eating a lot of it when I discovered that it could be harmful to the body if taken in large amounts. Its good to have them in the house just in case of emergencies or when you don’t want to cook they can be very ideal.
Oh, definitely! I remember back when I was in College, I had a few classmates staying in boarding houses and lived on instant noodles because it is cheap and they don’t know how to cook! Not the healthiest way to live but I guess some really go through times like this. I also keep a few packets of instant noodles at home since I go through “lazy days” as well no matter how quick it is to prepare the meals.
Tesco’s new boss Dave Lewis is pulling up to a third of products off its shelves as it calls time on policy that left shoppers baffled by a choice of up to 90,000 products on their weekly shop.
The struggling supermarket, which has lost market share to low-cost, low-choice retailers such as Lidl and Aldi, has called in outside consultants to cut back up to 30% of its products in an attempt to cut costs and make the weekly shop simpler.
Tesco stocks up to 90,000 different products – in industry jargon, stock-keeping units or SKUs. For each big brand, every pack size and flavour is a different SKU. In air fresheners alone Tesco offers 228 different options ranging from basic own-label sprays to posher varieties that come complete with propellers or disguised as stones.
With tomato ketchup, Tesco offers a bewildering array of 28 sauces while in Aldi there is just one ketchup in one size.
