Why Linux is Not for every Windows User

You have heard it from many Linux users. Linux is better. But is it? I think many Linux users are exaggerating. The reason being it is not easy for Windows and Mac users to work on the Linux. And we end up spending a lot of time. Linux is being projected as one of the good operating system. In reality not a lot of people can deal with it on many grounds. But still there are people who are trying to teach others about this operating system. I am also learning to make it compare on the fair basis. And this way I wish to know about it as well. I can’t think of many ways Linux is that easy for many. And I want to point that out in this article. So that others can understand why Linux is not meant for everyone. And why sticking with Mac and Windows is not that bad as it sounds there.

User Interface

As much good it sounds, there are too many of them. For example, gnome, KDE, XFCE and many others. I think there is too many of them. And too many of them do bad stuff. And this makes you worry about getting things done. And that’s what causes more of an issue. I am sure you know that Windows and Mac don’t do much of the changes these days. And this is one reason I think it’s better to use the interface which is familiar for you. And I am sure you know how it can be good enough for most of the people as it is. I personally enjoyed Unity interface and may use the YUnit interface.

Hardware Support

Another issue with linux is that there are lot of hardware issues. You may find that some of the time graphics may not be detected. And in some cases you’d find that it may lead to more of issues on the user website. I think this is another reason many people run the linux on older hardware. There are linux flavors that run on old hardware. The tori OS is one such example. And that OS can show you that to some extent it can take care of the hardware issues. You can then learn to migrate to some of such system and you can make sure that you are not losing much on such type of the support system.

Troubleshooting

Linux has the good troubleshooting system. There are people working for free. And that’s good enough. But some of the timee lot of those errors are not something we can find out easily. You should consider such troubleshooting is going to be good enough. You just have to take to some other people and see if that works for you. I think many of us don;t know what to do and what not to do. So it can be odd when it comes to troubleshooting these systems. I am still not sure how that can be a good idea there to troubleshoot problems which have kind of brick wall solutions.
