The Useful Reality of Being Jamaican

Perhaps, once, many many years ago, the Island of Jamaica was considered a pathetic little island with a population who had never been exposed anything like scams or tricks or hoaxes.

I doubt it.

Although he has no statue at National Heroes Park, take it as I say it, Anancy is our icon.

B’rer Anancy is well known on the West Coast of African and often appears in folk lore.  He came across the ocean, liked what he saw, and put down roots in Jamaica.

If he had respectable traits before his journey, he left them in Africa.

Anancy is a trickster, capable of every kind of scam the mind can devise.

The reason I belabour this point is so you will comprehend what happens when a Jamaican receives one of those scam letters from an idiot who doesn’t have the brains to check out who they are trying to scam and where that person happens to be.

Jamaicans pick up scams before they are even completed.  Jamaicans are ready for scams.  And when some jerk, who doesn’t have the brains to do the slightest check sends one of those messages to a Jamaican, well the nicest thing is a few choice obscenities.  The other side is to roll up the sleeves and scam them down to their underwear.

On another site I see this message from a total idiot calling itself Rose Smith.   The moron told me she had read my profile and wants me to email “her”.   I doubt its a her.  It is more likely some old tired scammer looking for idiots stupider than it is.

Start from One…

1. Why would I, anyone, write an email to a perfect stranger?
2. A sensible scammer would read my articles and right fulsome praise and over a few days, weasel themselves into my head space, and want to go to email.
3. A sensible scammer would write articles and only respond to those who leave comments.

This moron hasn’t written a word, but claims to have ‘read my profile’.

Alas, I didn’t write a profile.  There is no way to know if I am male or female, old or young, rich or poor.

Now Rose Smith, this pathetic excuse for a scammer tells me she read my profile, which doesn’t exist, and wants me to write to her.

Alas, Scamming has really declined.
