TAKING PEOPLE FOR GRANTED

Life can be a bother sometimes when we are always getting negative vibes and people not doing right. There are those people among us who feel that taking people for granted is okay so long as those people are not close to us or they are not related to us in anyway.

This is one thing that I really try to avoid as a person,  even though many times I have been taken advantage of, it has made me mad, unforgivable, and even withdrawn at some point. But as I grew up I came to realize that when you let this kinds of things cloud your mind you will never be happy. So it is better to shut your ears and just move on.

One time a friend of mine asked me to do him a huge favor and buy him some stuff that he needed to use for an even that he was throwing, and me being the nice person that I am, I went all the way arranged and he got everything he needed for the event.

The event went on well I was invite but I could not go because I had other things to deal with. So when it was all over I was to collect the stuff that I gave them and return them to my supplier, to my shock this friend of mine decides to go quiet doesn’t say anything about where my stuff is, I try to get through to a friend of his and a relative but I did not get any response. you can only imagine what I felt and the anger that was building up inside me.

To cut the story short, I did not get the stuff that I hired to them and I went at a loss, and that taught me one thing, when you approach someone for some help it is always good to be honest and do things right. never take anyone for granted, that thing that you take away from them will be or may be your down fall at some point, never think that you will evade the pain that you have cause on someone else.

    • I think it is common for some people to take for granted of others. They tend to create stress or even break a relationship. There is a point here that it doesn't matter to take granted of people who are not acquainted closely. It is a special case.

I am a sensitive person that never tries to hurt others' feelings. For some reason, I tend to practice such simple principles in life. The reason, I don't want to have a reverse effect of bad karma. However, some people don't feel that way. They are considered pachyderm or thick skin.

    • If you take the 'hard to get' route then we get more respect. 'Ever ready to do things for others' always lands up people in trouble such as you did. I belong there and I feel as though they are doing me a favour by asking me to help them out.

    • I experienced that too. I am a transferee in my school and when my classmates noticed that I excel in my class, most of them befriend me. Me being nice to everyone, whenever they ask me to share my assignments to them I share my assignments. But after getting what they want, they dont know me anymore unless they need again my help. Ugh. People nowadays

    • I don't like to either borrow or lend, especially anything that is expensive or difficult to replace. I wouldn't want to lose something that I need and can't afford to replace, nor would I want to be responsible for a friend's money or belongings if I knew that I might not be able to return them safely.

So I try not to lend or borrow unless it's small things that I can afford to lose, or that I could replace if any harm came to a friend's belonging.
