– Staying fit while traveling starts right from the planning stage.
– Getting a good idea of the places that one has plans to travel, the climate that one would have to face and such other information does help to plan well.
– A well-organised trip will take away much of the hassles. One needs to make a checklist of all what is required while on travel. This check list should necessarily have items such as details of travel documents one needs to carry, medicines with prescriptions, right clothes, the travel itinerary giving details of arrival/departure timings and contact details.
– It may not look important but a convenient travel bag, easy to tug along, with compartments that make it easy to pick items as and when needed could be put on the list of items that help one stay fit while traveling.
– One should know the rules and regulations that each country requires a traveler to follow. Spending time at the customs clearance counters because of rules broken could be quite a contributor that would affect one’s health. There are situations when a traveler is deported!!
– If one takes package tours there is bound to be time constraints, as one needs to rush around to keep up with the itinerary planned. Skipping a few items and relaxing in one’s hotel can go a long way to stay fit while traveling. A breather is necessary prior to starting on yet another hectic sight seeing experience.
– It is no doubt tempting to savor the kind of food one gets to eat while on travel and this is but natural. This could be a major contributor to ruin one’s health especially for those who are already afflicted. Eat only what is healthy.
– As far as possible taking time off to keep to one’s routines such as exercising could go a long way that would help one to stay fit while traveling.
– Clothes are yet another factor that can make or mar one’s travel. Paying attention to the kind of shoes one wears is very important as while on travel there is bound to be a lot of walking. The choice would therefore be to go for shoes that are comfortable and easy to slip on. The fewer clothes one carries the better it would be to make travel easy. A pair of dark glasses, convenient headgear and a water bottle are some of the essential items that could play a huge role to stay fit while traveling.
– A companion that is easy to get along with, one that has common interests, one having the same sleeping hours and a good conversationalist could be placed on top of the list of essentials that could guarantee one to stay fit while on travel.
– Before leaving, making all the arrangements to see that all is well at the home front and whoever or whatever is left behind is taken care of gives one the peace that is so important to enjoy one’s travel and stay fit.
It is only when one is healthy on travel that one can take back home, happy memories.

Whenever I am planning to travel, I usually have vaccine booster. In this way, I can protect myself from being inflicted of any diseases. When I had a mission in Central Asia, the non-government organization that I am working with requires me to have vaccination prior to my departure.
There were rules here in India some time ago for a few diseases like yellow fever. I do not remember taking any shots.
Nice tips to follow while on travel. I agree with the above tips except for one. The exercising part does one really have the time and energy to go around doing exercises? I really doubt it. If anything someone like me when I go vacation, my main aim is usually to go for adventure and relaxing. I try to put aside anything and everything that I was doing at home for a while and just focus on pampering myself. All I want to do at that particular time is to go for adventurous walks, walks on the beaches, enjoy some foreign cuisines and do all those things that will make me happy and relaxed at th3 same time
