Are You Sharing Posts on Social Media?

Did you know that sharing your posts and those of other writers can mean better earnings for you?

On a lot of social writing sites I’ve encountered the attitude that the writing isn’t worth sharing, or that it’s too much effort to share. Many users would rather just get paid for their popularity within the site, and couldn’t care less about external traffic. Some sites actually encouraged this by blocking comments and likes from visitors, and by placing the emphasis on social interaction rather than producing quality content.

You’ll notice that those sites failed – and at least one stole from its contributors in the process.

How Social Sharing Helps the Site

External traffic is what brings in revenue for a site like LiteracyBase. And that revenue is what makes it possible for you to be paid for your posts. Sharing on social media helps to raise awareness of a new site, which can result both in better page views and new members for the site.

Increased traffic to the site from social networks also means search engines will take notice of the site content. Paired with good SEO practices, it can help boost search ranking for the site. That makes it more desirable to advertisers, and improves the earning potential of the site. Which of course, means the admin will have more money for paying its users!

How Sharing on Social Networks Helps You

We are also fortunate that LiteracyBase pays us for each visitor we bring to the site, so sharing any link from the site on our social network means earning potential. You can share the referral link from your profile page, a link to one of your own posts, or a link to a worthy post written by another LiteracyBase  author. You could even share a link to an interesting forum topic if you like!

Not sure what to share? Why not start with some of your best posts. Then try finding a few posts by your favourite writers. You can go to any LiteracyBase user’s author page to find a complete listing of their offerings on the site.

LiteracyBase will pay you for each visit from a link you share to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, StumbleUpon or any other social site. This is passive income, and if you share consistently you will see that it’s also very reliable! I have well over a thousand credits for visitor referral in under a month on the site, and with just a handful of posts published here.

Your Referral Link

You can find your referral link on your profile page. But you can also see it added to the URL of any post on the site if you look next to the social media sharing buttons under the text.

If you want to manually add your referral code to a LiteracyBase link, just add “?mref=yourusername” to the end of any URL from the site. This will ensure you get credit when visitors click the link you’ve shared on your social networks.

Are you looking for a place to blog and get paid? Check out LiteracyBase!

    • It amazes me how some writers miss this potential avenue of revenue, not to mention increasing their readership and that of the site(s) upon which they write.

      • Deb, I believe some people were used to just posting and earning on sites like Bubblews that favoured all kinds of bad writing habits and traffic exchanges. People who were spoiled from earning hundreds of dollars a month writing about what they ate for breakfast or restating the weather report for their city, don't want to do any extra work - no matter how simple it is.

    • I have actually argued with a few people about this same issue, saying they don't have time to share on social media or to help promote other people stuff. Only their own. These are the same ones who do not respond to any comments on their blogs either. Not even if a question was asked. I eventually stopped reading their stuff. I figured if they want to make a quick buck but not help anyone but wants everyone to help them. They will find out real quick. It doesn't work that way.

You need a good group of like minded writers who are willing to help promote your writings as much as you promote theirs.

      • @sandyks It does take a collaborative effort to promote our writing. Once someone has built up a following, they may not need the help anymore. But then they can pay it forward by helping other writers promote their content.

    • HI,
I stumble all the time. I can get paid each time I do? Sounds too good to be true. What is the link where I sign up?
Thanks. Sorry if you already mentioned it in your post.

      • Janice, LiteracyBase does pay a referral bonus for every visitor who comes to the site through one of your personalized links. When you share your links on Stumbleupon, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. - or when you share links to other writers' content on the site - they are all eligible for the referral bonus.

    • I have been sharing since day one. I just use the Share button at the bottom of the page and it already has my referral code added. I do not think that it takes that long to share on social media. I also have nearly 1000 visitor referrals and I do not have that many posts on here. I have shared my posts, other posts that I have liked, and forums that I think would be interesting to people. Especially the About LiteracyBase group ones. It does not even take 5 minutes to do and you can help someone out in the process. Great information in this post.

      • @morgoodie Sharing is definitely very easy here on LiteracyBase! By sharing the posts of others - or the forum threads, as you do - we benefit directly and so do the other writers. I'd say that's a win-win scenario!

      • @sunil I check my points history frequently. I love that I can see each visitor referral, and now even the stats for posts published by my referred member.

    • Yes, that is a good way to get views, and to get some extra earnings for ourselves.
I think the best feature in LB is that we can share the content of everyone else, and get credits!

      • @scheng1 I agree, it is the best part! I also love that because there are no maximum limits, we get credit for all the traffic we bring to the site and not just a handful of the visitors each day.

    • Everyday I get 8-10 referred visitors by sharing posts on the social media and this means passive income without having to do much.

      • @swalia It is passive income, exactly! When all you do is share a link and it keeps earning you money, it makes no sense at all not to take a few seconds each day to share on a few social networks.

    • @shaloo walia I was getting 30-40 everyday but since the last maintenance I got ZERO views or ref-visitors and I have written a detailed report to support.

      • @sunil Did you manage to get the issue with your visitor referrals sorted out? I haven't noticed any change, but then I've always had to add my referral links manually because I use an older OS that doesn't seem compatible with the script that adds the referral codes automatically when we load a page.

    • Hmm, yes, but this all is already well known and nothing new. I get daily referral visitors through my links.
Do you have any advice about the new and less know social websites which can help is to boost our visitor rate?
Also, some writers among us don't share because they don't want to include tehir social profiles into the writing jobs they do on the internet.
Many of them don't even have Twitter or LinkedIn.

      • Rapid Blue, it shouldn't matter what networks you use as long as you share the links. I can't imagine why anyone would not want their social profiles connected with their web writing, but it's easy enough to set up separate accounts if there is a need.

It's true that a lot of writers don't yet use certain networks like Twitter. And it does take an effort to build up a following on each network. But even if the person only shares on Facebook, they can get good results. I get a lot of my clickthrough traffic from Facebook.

      • It's nice to see when someone comes in through a social media share and leaves a comment, Barb. Sometimes they do come but we don't know how they found our content. It's rewarding to know the promotional work is having a positive impact.
