Noise Pollution Causes Too Much Irritation To People

Noise pollution causes too much irritation to people , so true.

One kind of pollution derives from too much noise. Our country Philippines is champion of this noise pollution. Wherever you go and whatever you ride, expect sounds that almost break the passengers’ ears. When you also go to different malls in Philippines, you can hear so loud noise from their sound system that seems decentralized. All over mall one can hear the same song or noise. Sounds and talks are competing sometimes you have to sound loud to your companion during shopping for you cannot hear well, so noisy that you want to escape from the irritating noise. I always witness people shouting at the origin of the noise to please stop it for it breaks their nerves due to volume of the stereo installed in jeep or passenger vehicle air -coned or not there is music sound so loud that causes irritation and seems like to inject the bottom part of the ear drum. There is a mall in our city beside a catholic church and on the ground of the elevated church scatter few beggars young and old, but there is one male beggar in his middle 50’s that creates nuisance through his singing rampage just to have alms from mall customers and church goers. The problem is no one gives alms for every time people pass near him; they walk fast and cover their ears which the beggar does not see this scenario because of his disability as deaf and blind. This said beggar uses amplifier hahahahaha that is why; he cannot evaluate the loudness of his singing and the strumming of his electric guitar that is connected to the amplifier, LOL. The only person that likes the sound is the priest, why because he still conducts a mass despite too loud sound of the beggar singing and the accompaniments electric guitar and amplifier, LOL. Sometimes I wonder why no one leads that beggar to a location far from church, mall and road. He creates traffic to people for they cannot immediately reach the door of the mall because the beggar has many weapons displayed in the passage.

I also wonder why the mall owner, a Chinese man cannot tell the guard to just receive his daily allowance of some pesos so he won’t create traffic and nuisance near the mall. Even me, every time I pass that area of the beggar I run for the sound is so loud and the space gets smaller easy for the snatchers and pick picketers to enjoy their illegal activities. It is not only in this church where there is forever noise; likewise in terminals domestic or international so noisy. Why can’t people talk less and moderated and why can’ the terminal manager order sound operator to stop the nonsense noise? In other countries there is no sound anywhere and everywhere. When I toured in Auckland city, New Zealand, I noticed total silence in their malls and everywhere. I was so surprised and so suddenly I missed the noise, LOL. Shoppers inside mall just pick what they buy and pay straight to the country with their credit card. I looked around and looked at people, they never smile at each other when their yes met unlike in my country when meet someone even not a friend as long as smile at us, we also respond with a smile. Tradition and culture matter a lot. I also noticed no one spits and urinates anywhere in Auckland unlike in Philippines urinate anywhere (males only) as long as there is space LOL. It is a shameful act, but there is no law prohibiting them to urinate and spit anywhere. What Filipinos lack, discipline and what makes people here poorer is the too much eating of rice. There will be loud noise in a home when rice is no more or left I rice cooker, too small, LOL.

My friend went to Japan for as scholar there, but what he narrated to me was shocking. He said that when he rode on a train, he smiled at the guy sitting beside him. Instead of giving the same sweet smile, the guy said to him: hey, are you crazy?” hahahahaha, what a funny experience in Japan. We cannot just smile anyone there for they think of the person crazy. Their culture is different so we have to excuse a person who acts differently and believes differently because that is the upbringing of his own culture and tradition. I think other countries do not allow too loud sound only in Philippines that is why; it is also so funny to tell you that our country is tagged as this: “More Fun in Philippines.” I opposed to this statement for it is not true that there is more fun in Philippines, better to say: More drug addicts and Abusayaffs in Philippines. Agree? This is now the cry of the people in the country of my birth to stop the sound of a stereo installed in a passenger jeepney or taxi. One time I complied to the driver to lower the tune of his stereo. The driver did not respect my request so I got the plate number and reported his manner to the police station. The said driver went to school to get his drivers’ license for it was what the police told to him, but I answered him that he needs discipline and training, so he must face the bad consequence of his arrogant action. The sound of his jeepney stereo was so loud that it almost breaks our heart. Others alighted because of their blood pressure that went high.

I also reported that driver to Land Transportation Commission (LTO) , he was not anymore allowed to drive and his jeepney operator was also called why having this unruly and harsh driver, so the jeepney operator was also disfranchised by the Land Transportation Franchise Regulatory Board ( LTFRB). What a bad luck for that arrogant driver for he never knew that the head of LTO is my cousin and in LTFRB, the head was my former college classmate and best friend. What we have to do to every person is respect each other to have peace.

    • Too loud nice is bad for people with high blood pressure. They are advise to stay away from a loud noise. Their blood goes up and down and most of the time if not controlled high.It is hard to define the attitude of some people why they like so loud noise, high volume of the jeep stereo and cars. They need to discipline themselves.Someday those abusive drivers will have a bad karma on their health to let them know what to feel.

    • Noise health effects are the health consequences of regular exposure, to consistent elevated sound levels. Elevated workplace or environmental noise can cause hearing impairment, hypertension, ischemic heart disease, annoyance, and sleep disturbance. Changes in the immune system and birth defects have been also attributed to noise exposure.[1]

Although some presbycusis may occur naturally with age,[2] in many developed nations the cumulative impact of noise is sufficient to impair the hearing of a large fraction of the population over the course of a lifetime.[3][4] Noise exposure also has been known to induce tinnitus, hypertension, vasoconstriction, and other cardiovascular adverse effects.[5]

Beyond these effects, elevated noise levels can create stress, increase workplace accident rates, and stimulate aggression and other anti-social behaviors.[6] The most significant causes are vehicle and aircraft noise, prolonged exposure to loud music, and industrial noise. In Norway, road traffic has been demonstrated to cause almost 80% of the noise annoyances reported.[7]

There may be psychological definitions of noise as well. Firecrackers may upset domestic and wild animals or noise-traumatized individuals. The most common noise-traumatized persons are those exposed to military conflicts, but often loud groups of people can trigger complaints and other behaviors about noise. Infants are easily startled by noise.

    • Understanding Noise Pollution

Most of us are very used to the sounds we hear in everyday life. Loud music, the television, people talking on their phone, the traffic and even pets barking in the middle of the night. All of these have become a part of the urban culture and rarely disturb us. However, when the sound of the television keeps you from sleeping all night or the traffic starts to give you a headache, it stops becoming just noise and start turning into noise pollution. For many of us, the concept of pollution is limited to nature and resources. However, noise that tends to disrupt the natural rhythm of life makes for one solid pollutant.

By definition, noise pollution takes place when there is either excessive amount of noise or an unpleasant sound that causes temporary disruption in the natural balance. This definition is usually applicable to sounds or noises that are unnatural in either their volume or their production. Our environment is such that it has become difficult to escape noise. Even electrical appliances at home have a constant hum or beeping sound. By and large, lack of urban planning increases the exposure to unwanted sounds. This is why understanding noise pollution is necessary to curb it in time.
