Live in maids vs live out maids.

What would your choice be if you were to have a maid? Would he/she be living in or be living out of the house? Well, I have had my fair share of both and would say none of the above, but if I am to pick one I will go for the live out. I say this because maids have different issues, some come with a lack of respect, body odour, English problems, poor hygiene,  dishonesty and what have you.

My experience with live in maids range from different angles, they stole from me, they wore provocative dresses or night wears, they watch programmes not appropriate  for kids, the body odour , the list is endless. There are are some you can manage, while some, no amount of help can make them change.  They often a times ate more than the owners of the house. The kids tend to speak like them from having being around them all the time. I coped well with some who were hard working,  while it wasn’t that easy with others.

The live out maid will be appropriate to only come clean up and leave, you can set times that are convenient for you. Times when you are most likely around to watch them clean and prevent them from stealing, but that not withstanding they come up with all sorts of tricks. One of such would be trying to empty trash with a whole lot of your goods in it, kept hidden somewhere around the bin area, and then goes home with it after the days activity. Sounds impossible right, but it is so real. Most maids try to steal from their owners, we have to be extra careful.

If it were a live in maid, they won’t do what the live out would do, but they will simply pick things daily and hide, till they are ready to go visiting, as per off days, or go finally after having being satisfied with a whole lot of your goods. A live in maid will do more, because they are left at home half of the day.  They use that time to snoop around the house for activities not given to them. They also leave your house smelling from body odour. Kids then tend to speak like them from hanging around them all the time. It’s the opposite for the live out who just comes and goes.

    • I prefer the live out house helper due to some issues you had mentioned. But I only hire the reliable ones who do not steal anything from our house.

    • i prefer the live out maid, i like to have my home and family for me, don not like to have maid with us all the time, even if i trust her, but it depends on you also, i like to do few chores at home that i hate others to do it like cooking, i like to cook and bake, and like to have me time alone, which is hard if you have maid
