It is not shocking that most police officers were born and grown in the same slums that they now ‘hunt’. That the enculturation of the police office is the same as the unlicensed gun man. In fact, they are the same people.
The difference between the average cop and the average gun man is that the first is licensed by the state, which will do everything in its power, legal or otherwise to protect him.
The second may have a gang behind him which may have some power but when it comes to the balance, the police tend to win.
Police will storm into an area, firing their guns, so scared they might be wearing diapers. If they kill anyone accidentally or by mistake, they’ll toss an old gun on him and claim a shoot out.
The witnesses to police murders know this; the guy is dead already, if I give a statement, I’ll join him.
Recently, the BBC has been exclaiming over all the police murders of citizens; hundreds in a year. Nothing strange about it. That is how it has always been.
Unlike America where they can parade about and say; “Black Lives Matter!” because the police man is white and the corpse is black, we don’t have an easy answer. The best we can do is claim; ‘our culture’ and let media mouths babble it out.
The fact is, when you take a poor powerless guy and give him a gun, he goes overboard. For the first time in his life he can face off anyone. The feeling of equality moves quickly to superiority and he feels he can do anything.
If he’s an unlicensed gun man, like a gang member, he only has the gang behind him, maybe a politician.
If he’s a licensed gun man, a police officer, he has the whole force behind him, plus the legal system, and he knows that if he’s charged, his ‘squadies’ (the police he trained with or are stationed with) will insure that the witnesses don’t live long enough to give testimony.
The ‘cure’ is simply to do an intense psychological evaluation of all those who want to join the police force to weed out cowards, those with inferiority problems, and those who only want a gun so they can kill people.
