I have a sweet tooth and sometimes I am a bit harsh on my health as everything that is sweet can affect our health. I l try to avoid those sweets that could lead to weight gain and so on.
However, ‘All this and heaven too’ is what I felt when I came to know the goodness of gelatin delights
Sorry folks if you are a diabetic keep away from this topic. This is for those with a healthy sweet tooth.
Also, vegetarians may not like any items made from gelatin as gelatin is made from collagen extracted from bones, skin and connective tissues of animals such as chicken and cattle. I have to thank the Internet to have gained this knowledge as I always thought gelatin was extracted from some plants. It does not affect me per se as I am a non vegetarian and whatever items are prepared from gelatain are my favourites.
Gelatin is good for health and so many mouth watering items can be prepared from gelatin which we call gelatin dainties – jelly, marshmallows, jujips, souffles, mousse, jelly beans, gummies – can you think of any more?
Gelatin is recommended for hair growth, nails and even bones. Gelatin dainties are a part of my diet. I make some of them but mostly I buy them. Jelly is the easiest to make. You get ready made packets with instructions. I have tried making jujips. They sometimes melt – can anyone tell me why they melt? Gelatin is some kind of a binder and is used in salads that keep the ingredients together.
Marshmallows are a bit difficult to make while souffles are indeed time consuming and could be made adding so many different ingredients. What about coffee mousse which has a good portion of gelatin. I recently ordered for marshmallow online but I found them a bit rubbery unlike what I had so far tasted.

I remember some years back, shopping with a vegetarian friend who was loading up on gummy candies and marshmallows for a group camping trip. Another friend came along, and took great pleasure in revealing that gelatin came from animals. My poor friend was absolutely deflated!
You can now get gelatin-based products that are sourced from plants, though I believe this is relatively new.
I hope it becomes wellknown soon as not many would like to eat gelatin based goodies if they know they are made from gelatin that is extracted even from pigs. (lol)
Talk about sweet tooth, am already salivating as I look at this photo. I love sweet things I just thank God for good health. Not a day goes by without me having to throw a candy or something sweet into my mouth. I didn’t know that gelatin has so many benefits in our bodies this is very interesting. It’s dangerous to eat too many sweet things yet the main ingredient in this sweets is gelatin of which we need for our bodies growth how ironical. At This point @bestwriter I don’t think anyone would want to quit eating sweets after so many years of indulging. Like me i don’t think I would stop even after knowing that the gelatin comes from pigs despite the fact that I don’t like pigs. If you want to quit you might as well think about quoting sausages and bacon hehehe. That would be torture to I can stop that easily not unless my life depends on it.
