What’s Changing With Ubuntu Linux Desktop?

I think this year a lot of changes are being done with the ubuntu desktop. As you can see there are many people who are migrating away from the ubuntu for many reasons. There are some of the updates for the linux desktop with lot of desktop level changes. You can find that the Unity development is still going on. And also the scripts that make the look and feel of the gnome desktop to be like unity. So in short lot of good changes being done these days. You’d surely appreciate the way this direction of the ubuntu dekstop. In this article I want to put on some of the points that shows you how the linux desktop is growing this year.

Unity 7

Just because unity 8 is being scraped does not mean the unity 7 is dead. You can see that there are some development going on behind the scene. And you can easily see how the low graphics mode also exist for new update. And they may continue to work on the port. It may not be going to be good and big as we can see. But the things are going to be a lot better. It’s just that canonical gave up on unity too early. It was one of the good DE as we can speak. And they had everything properly lined up. I personally found that sort of stuff really good too. It’s just that unity 7 needs new maintainers.

Shell Layout Script

Many of us want the gnome desktop to do things like Windows or mac or unity. And as you can see it may take some time for those things to happen. And for this there are some scripts coming out. Here you just have to point to the specific settings. And with enough effort you can make those desktop to look like unity, windows and mac. I have tried those scripts and for me they are working. In future such script can be useful for turning the desktop to your effort. Shell layout script can make many such things to be lot useful. I personally think that such scripts are really good for anyone who wants to use unity desktop after closure.

Script Organizer

In past there used to be a script manager. Here as you can see the script manages the icons. And when you tap into it can show the grid lot bigger. And also as you can see that we need some of such projects. if such projects can help with plugins it can customize the desktop. You can see that customization can work just fine. You’d have to understand that script management is not going to be that easy. You’d just need to understand how small plugins can benefit for such script. I am going through script manager these days and for my usage this script manager can work out just fine.

That being said, the development of ubuntu is going just fine. You should adopt new desktop without much efforts. I have found that if you can take effort then this may surely help as well.
