A deadly assassin on a prowl

29th December 2015 : 10:15 A.M

Shyam had a sound sleep for 3 hours, after which he had hurried up. He got a good breakfast of Idlis dipped in sambar with some coconut chutney. The canteen of the 3 Brigade Building had done a good job in giving some nice meals, which was not the case in every army canteen around.
He was just in time for the meeting with Col. Zakir.

After the routine morning greetings, Shyam continued:
‘To summarize the situation,
We had a top secret covert operation successfully conducted.
However, guys involved in it have been under attack, or are still threatened.
Investigations related to these attacks compromised.
So, the attacks are either by someone who was directly impacted in this operation, or B) Wants to divert our attention and build up something terrible and make us pay dearly for our lack of attention on their motives.’
Col. Zakir interrupted , ‘Or its a combination of first and second scenario.’
He then took out some documents from one of his drawers and laid across the table in front of Shyam.

‘Look here, this is what was etched on the arms of Col. Kaushal Singh.
And this was found near the body of AjitKumaran, and which some of our experts took away from the prying eyes of other Army and other experts.’

‘He had prayed for the wrath of God rather than the wrath of Commander Han.’
Shyam said ,’Han Nicholas and Zheng Doxeyl- the diamond smuggler and terrorist from Xanade?’
‘Yes, and these two were nuetralized in Storm Harrison, as per our reports.’
‘May be they survived?’
‘Well, the blasts at the Atacaq Island complex were very terrible. Also, afterwards, the local AirForce also dropped a few powerful bombs at the site to take care of any survivors, followed by a patrol party recce of the area- no survivors at all.’
‘How much was the gap between AirForce attack and the Mission completion?’
‘Hardly 10 Mins- not enough for someone to escape by Air, land or sea from that place.’

Shyam added again ‘A tunnel may be, and may be – Han or Zheng managed to escape?’
‘Its not reported Shyam’, said Col. Zakir with a smile.
‘Similar to the “routine” things’, chuckled Shyam.
‘Its not reported but this is what I guess, or may be there is something more that was missed-
clone/mistaken identity.’
‘And these possibilities are not reported or discussed.’, added Shyam.
