Have you heard of the Syco Seer ? I was not familiar with it until I found it’s offspring in the woods the other day. It’s funny the things that can be found out there. I was cutting a trail when I saw a round object in the leaves. It turned out to be a Magic Eight Ball. The Magic Eight Ball did not exist in its current form until 1950 and was invented by Albert C. Carter, who was inspired by a “spirit writing” device used by his mother, Mary,who was a Cincinnati clairvoyant.
The Magic 8-Ball is a plastic sphere resembling a large black and white 8-ball. Inside the eight ball is a reservoir which contains a white, icosahedral die floating in blue dye. There are 20 faces of the die and can the seeker an affirmative, negative, or non-committal statement printed on the letters. There is a transparent window through which the message is read.
A person is to ask the “Magic Eight Ball” a question that requires a yes or no answer. The person must then shake the ball and the die floats to the top and gives the answer which shows up against the window. Now, I know that not many people who are familiar with this “toy” have taken the advice supplied by this ball but I am sure there are a few that probably have. Kind of a shallow place to look for answers.
Where do you get the answers for life that you are looking for? The Magic Eight Ball, the Horoscope, a fortune cookie? The eight ball I found had lost it’s “magic”. The sight glass is blurred, the dye and alcohol are gone and the icosahedral (20 sided cube) no longer give answers, as though it ever did. Do you want to know the future? Look into the Word of God, it will never pass away. I Peter 1:23-25. Don’t put yourself behind an eight-ball.
