There are several travel sites on the Net that will talk about what to see in Darjeeling. But coming from someone who has been there is what one must look for. I have been there and here is what I recommend you see when you visit there.
Darjeeling is a part of India that comes in the State of West Bengal and is situated in the foot of the Himalayas. .
Taking advantage of the slopes in the terrain tea grows very well in Darjeeling. One sees several tea gardens in these slopes.
We went on a package holiday as the tour conductors know where to take us. They make all the arrangements.
The holiday started with a train journey from Mumbai to Calcutta and then on to Guahati and the final stop was at Jalpaiguri. We took a bus from Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling and this in itself was a great experience having to pass through hills and dales. We did experience hailstones on the way.
We were put up in a moderately comfortable hotel. Anyway we hardly stayed in the hotel as we were always on the move.
The tour conductors saw to it that we got to stay in a hotel from where we could have a full view of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Being a nature lover this was more than what I had expected.
There were temples to see that Darjeeling is famous for. We got to see the famous Buddhist temple and we were taken inside.
There were tea gardens that we visited and even plucked a few leaves.
We visited a shop that sold tea and that is where we got our chosen brand ‘Lopchu’
How could we have not included that optional trip to Tiger Hill. We took that in and had to be ready for the van that took us there around 3 am. But luck was not in our favour as the sunrise that first hit the Himalayas was not in our destiny to view, as that day there were heavy clouds that hid the sun
We had heard about the toy train from friends who had already been to Darjeeling and although this option was not in our package we got to experience that as well.

You visited Tiger Hills and Himalayas that most famous all over the world. If I have time I will visit the places you mention in the article.
