5 Reasons Why I like Old Comedy Shows

I think the days of old comedy are back again. I have found that new comedy shows have most of the bad stuff in them. And the amount of the content being bombarded at us makes it really not worth consuming. I have found that some of the old shows from around the world make such shows lot better. I think a lot of those shows if get comeback, then I am sure that will surely make things lot better. Because these days humor is more of drama than the humor itself. In this article I want to explain the 10 reasons why I find the old comedy shows lot better. That being said, let’s take a look at those 10 reasons.

1. Simple Humor

Earlier the humor was easy. You could find it in some easy places. You don’t have to do insult of other people. You don’t have to make fun of someone badly for the humor. For example charlie Chaplin humor was not racist and he was not typical stand up comedian. You still get the humor out of it. So that goes to show you how it worked.

2. Ageless Humor

Have you ever watched roast and comedy shows where they insult each other? You can see that roast is definitely not good for the kids and the people who are sensitive towards the profanity. And that is one reason I find the ageless humor in old times lot better. Why it is good because it takes into consideration of people of all ages. Say for example tom and jerry cartoon. It has ageless humor.

3. No profanity

Almost every comedy movie today has profanity and adult content. And that is not how the comedy should be. Because we are not growing with that sort of content. I don’t want to see my kids growing up in profanity as a norm. So it has to be controlled on many grounds. And one has to focus on the development of the content better. It should not allow the profanity to be something part of like that.

4. Racism

In real world we all are facing the racism. And we have known the effects of it. Many comedy shows make use of it in a wrong way. I think one has to use the racism in proper way to make comedy. Not hurting people in any way. I think modern comedy fails to do that these days. So surely that is not a good sign at all. I am sure there are people who know how to handle that but it is not easy.

5. Stereotype

I think many times the males in the show are stereotyped. And nobody talks about. As much as women are stereotyped and often get relief from it. You can find that males too go through this process. I think one has to manage the stereotype and not get washed up with it. Because that way things can be as bad as they can get. You can find most of the modern comedy make use of the stereotype and create comedy. And that in itself can be really bad. So that’s something worth checking out. You have to consider how that can help on lot of grounds.

These are some of my observations. I am sure with time things will change but for now I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
