Why I listen to ASMR videos to fall asleep

Asmr ( autonomous sensory meridian response) is that tingle sensation we have when we hear certain sounds. It is usually a tingle that you feel in your scalp as if someone was whispering to you and you feel some tingles down your spine.

Sometimes i have a hard time sleeping and i know if i listen to music i’ll never fall asleep, i’ll probably just sing the songs all night long.

One day i found ASMR videos and decided to give it a try. There are various types of videos you can see. There are some that are meant to try and create that tingle sensation. For this they use tapping on various objects, crinkling noises, certain words or even the way water sounds falling in a bottle.

There are some videos that have more relaxing sounds which are the ones i listen to to fall asleep. Because it is a simple videos with simple noises there is no concentration needed and all you need to do is listen, relax and sleep.

I am not sure if any of you have tried sleeping listening to these kinds of videos and sometimes it sounds ridiculous to do so but it does work for me alot.

It isn’t something that will make you want to stay up. My preffered videos are the ones that start for tingle sensations, then end with relaxation. It is a nice feeling before going off to sleep and i wake up somewhat refreshed.

If you don’t want to try it to sleep you should try for the tingle sensation. Of course you would need to browse around to see what gets you tingling so to speek. Is it tapping, whispering, crinkle sounds or even a mix of all.

There is a huge ASMR world out there to try out. I love it and maybe you will also.
