Was in the Hospital

I am never going to the psych unit again! In the past it has helped, but this time it just made things worse. It began in the emergency room, where the charge nurse called 7 security guards on me when she found out that I would be filing formal complaints against her. First, she refused to come see me for over 20 minutes. When she did bother to show up, she had a nasty and demeaning attitude. Finally, she walked out in the middle of me talking to her! That is when I found out she’d brought all the security guards for the freaking hospital, almost, with her! Thankfully, they couldn’t touch me since I was cooperating.

I expected to be treated rather crummy as a psych patient in the ER, they aren’t exactly known for their great service there. Psych patients are seen as a bit of a nuisance. As if, they are in the business of saving lives and we are just there for attention. I certainly expected much better when I got over to the behavioral health building though! I was sorely disappointed. I ended up being placed on the senior citizen unit first of all – which meant nothing at all for me to do and no one to talk to. Very late, after I went to bed the first day, they woke me up to move me to a new unit.

That new unit was wild. A miscommunication led to my being yelled at by staff! They searched my room and read the journal I was keeping – and didn’t even try to make a secret of it. When I went to report it, they first nurse acted like I was just imagining it all. Just because I’m a psych patient, it doesn’t mean that I don’t know when things that are wrong happen. So I had two ‘notes’ in my file when my doctor came today. Despite that, he let me come home tonight!
