Skincare is one of my top priorities these days. Since giving birth, I realized that my skin is not as “good” as it used to. I am still lucky not to have issues with acne apart from the few “breakouts” during my period but I noticed that my skin needs a little bit of help these days. I just noticed that my skin seemed a little bit more dull, dry, and started to show some signs of aging (eek!).
I am not that vain and usually abhor tedious skincare routines but I realized that I needed to boost my game when it comes to skincare if I don’t want to look like an old hag sooner than I thought, LOL! This got me to thinking to try my best to add this 15-20 minute routine as part of my bi-weekly skincare ritual – donning a face mask.
Face masks are not that “new” to me since I bought a couple of these sheets in the past but only used it when I “feel like it”. But now that I am trying to have it scheduled, I have bought a number of variants and one of those is Vanedo. This particular face mask has mung bean extract and promises to soothe and bring back skin’s elasticity. Since I wanted to help my skin bring back that youthful glow, I gave this a go and bought it at €0.99 from a local Korean grocery in the city center.
After I washed my face, I carefully placed the mask to cover my face. Typical to other face masks I tried before, this one felt cool on my face. Since it was made with mung bean extract, I was kind of expecting to have at least a faint smell of something – vegetable-ish. But there was none. It was faintly scented and smelled fresh, which is something I like.
I was initially finding the product alright but after about 10 minutes, I noticed there was a slight stinging sensation in my face. This is something new to me since I never encountered this sensation from other face masks I tried before, even other variants from Vanedo. It didn’t really hurt my face so I kept it firmly placed for 10 minutes more. After 20 minutes, I removed the mask and patted the remaining liquid to dry.
I didn’t notice anything major as a result of putting on the mask except that it was really refreshing on my skin. Apart from the slight stinging sensation, there was nothing I can really complain about. My skin didn’t breakout as a result of me using the mask either so I think it is an OK face mask.
Overall, I might not buy it again only because I am not really fond of a skincare product that stings. Maybe if there’s no other face mask available in the market, that’s the only time I will repurchase but if there are other options, I’d rather buy those.

I appreciate you being that so sensitive on your body parts.Nice post .
Thanks! Yeah, I am not really picky when it comes to skincare. In fact, I rarely buy anything overly expensive, not unless I really need it or can't find a cheap alternative that works "fine".
It is my attitude that every time I read a review of any kind, of any product, I always expect something good, something that generally benefits the users. I am sorry to read about this product for skin care of what you have considered as uncomfortable in your part. My personal feeling is that there are a lot of skincare in the market, and there are, of course, a lot to select from. No wonder why, you mention that you are firmed yet to decide to finally purchase the said product, for you are expecting that there are still more in the market, which could be ideal for your delicate skin.
Oh, it was not too much of an issue, to be honest. I am quite lucky my skin is not as sensitive as others who might've experienced breakouts when using something new to their skin (I know, my husband is one of those). I think this is an average product for me. I may or may not buy again, but of course, if I have other options, I'd rather not have a slight stinging sensation on my skin as I use it.
Nice your skin is used to different kinds of lotion. I do not apply lotion to my skin.It feels itchy and dust usually sticks to my skin.
Yeah, I am quite lucky :) It allows me to use cheap products and to try out different things especially when I get tired of the scent or the product. Hmm, have you tried to use a non-greasy alternative?
Nice friend. I do not use lotion dust stick to my skin hehehe. There is one I like Jergens. I might use it again.
Yeah, it might help you to moisturize your skin. Or if you have sensitive skin, have you tried to make your own skincare products? Or use something that is aloe vera-based?
@cessy08, I do try the aloe vera -based moisturizer, who knows my skin glows and glows and velvety like the petals of a rose LOL.
HAHA, I think aloe vera-based products are really nice on the skin, especially if you live in warmer countries. During summer, I can't be bothered using oil-based skincare. It is just too sticky!
Hehehehe, lots of fun here too if not take a post or topic seriously.LOL.I try to shop in mall during Christmas hahahaha to have a bigger discount for it is Christmas.
