Tumblr ~ Truth or Dare? I Dared!

One of my daughters, who is an aspiring artist, has a Tumblr blog. For that reason, it was my mistaken notion that the blogging platform was only for artists and photographers. One day, stumbled across a post by another one of my blogging friends who was not an artist or photographer. That is when it dawned on me.  “Hey! Tumblr must be for everybody!”

Started my adventures (or misadventures) on Tumblr as far back as 2011.  Then one day, my account was terminated. The reasons given were numerous. But there was nothing to discuss. In my mind, if it’s your platform or your website or your community and you tell me to “Take a hike!” …then guess what? I’m leaving. I’m leaving in peace.

That is not to say my feelings are not hurt and that I won’t come back, beg forgiveness, and ask to try again. Which is exactly what I did with Tumblr.

Tumblr has transferred ownership from the original owner, David Karp, to YAHOO! and then to Verizon. Figured there were some changes going on due to the transition. So … I waited a while.

In the interim, tried to find alternative micro-blogging platforms. Found one. It’s called Over-Blog.com. It is a reasonable substitute or replacement. However, Tumblr is US-Based and Over-Blog is based in Europe.

Truth be told, I must frankly admit that there is no platform quite like Tumblr. It is very obvious why they have so many users and why major corporations like YAHOO! and Verizon, were willing to buy it! (See article links below.)

Decided to give it another try. Created a new Tumblr blog. Hope I don’t screw up this time!

    • I have Tumblr account, but I am no longer active there after Blogjob no more. There are so many member or writers at Tumblr. I no longer remember my password at this site hehehehe. This site has numerous writers and entries. All entries are highly chosen and owners from the different parts of the world.

    • Are you saying there are BlogJob members who have shared via Tumblr? Or are you saying instead of being at Tumblr you are at BlogJob instead? BTW, it's really easy to reset your password. I've done it several times under their old system. There new system connects your YAHOO eMail and Tumblr accounts together. Still! It can't be that hard to get a new password.
