Being a marketing professional I tend to see something tricky when an advertisement appears offering something for free with shopping on its products. Same was my reaction when I saw Raymond’s latest advert that offered free tailoring on each of the trousers you bought from them against your used trousers that will be donated to Goonj the famous NGO.
Goonj is famous NGO for its timely help to various good cause like they donated 1500 gunny bags full of clothes both cotton as well as woolens, solar lights, wheelchairs, crutches, biscuits, utensils & pressure cookers etc when several districts of Bihar were under water recently.
Goonj also worked in my neighboring state of Uttarakhand Floods by setting a Base camps in small villages especially where the roads were disrupted due to heavy land sliding that caused very large scale devastation. Goonj did a lot of relief work ahead of government agencies.
Goonj was also in the fore during Jammu and Kashmir during the flood in 2014 which left a number of people dead and everything was almost destroyed including the local business. Goonj the always helpful NGO was among the firsts that reached the capital of J&K Srinagar and helped everyone as much as possible.
Goonj with its slogan of changing lives with the forgotten basic need is changing the life of underprivileged to a great extent by providing food, shelter, and clothing which are in fact the three basic needs of people during their moments of trouble. Unfortunately the geo conditions in our country are too tough to survive besides the poor political and government’s willingness to look at them makes it even more difficult.
So I am willing to buy a trouser or two for myself and give them my two trousers for donation purpose. I suggest all Indian friends to do the same if possible.

This seems like a good initiative.because your not loosing out on anything when you give out to charity. We have one in our country it's church based but they are inclined towards giving to the less fortunate in different places it's called the Salvation Army. It's usually a very good course.
