This is a regular fried rice that you had any other day but the
difference is the seasoning used which had added extra
flavor to this dish.
Normally, we use pasta tomato sauce / paste for spaghetti or
pasta recipes.
Now, you can add in 2 tbsp of pasta sauce into your fried rice
without any seasoning.
I had bought 2 jars of Prego Pasta Tomato sauce which were
on sale, decided to try it out today for a change and
surprisingly, it turned out GREAT!
If you have left over pasta sauce from your spaghetti meal,
do not discard the sauce.
Chill in the fridge with overnight white rice.
If you like meat in your fried rice, you can add in burger
patty of your choice, hotdog or left-over fried chicken.
As for the vegetable, grab whatever you have in the fridge.
You can add in mixed vegetables, chives, mustard greens,
carrot sticks, cabbages or spring onions.
I had used butter instead of cooking oil for a healthier fried
rice version.
You can use olive oil or canola oil .
3 cups cold cooked overnight rice
2 tbs of Pasta sauce
1 medium onion, sliced thinly
2 cloves garlic, sliced thinly
1 bunch chives-washed and cut into sections
1/2 small carrot- peeled and cut into sticks
1 piece of chicken burger patty ( optional)- cut into squares
1 egg-beaten
2 tbsp of butter
pepper to taste
(No need salt)
1. Heat up wok with 2 tbsp of butter.
2. Saute garlic and onion until fragrant.
3. Add in carrot sticks and chives.
Stir fry for a couple of minutes
4. Add in burger patty squares, flip over when one side are
brownish.
5. Loosen the white rice before tossing into the wok.
6. Stir fry for another 2 minutes.
7. Pour in the beaten egg in circles, stir fry.
8. Add in 2 tbsp of pasta sauce, stir fry until all ingredients
and rice are well coated.
9. Sprinkle black / white pepper before serving.
Yield: 3-4 persons

one has to consume it daily, whether white rice or fried rice

It is a popular meal for lunch, dinner and take-away.
To cook a simple fried rice recipe is easy that even Tom,
Dick or Harry could do it but to have a perfect fried rice lies
on the white rice itself.
Here are 2 simple reasons why overnight white rice is
important.
Just cooked, hot rice is wet, damp and sticky.
Even though you may have left it under the spinning fan,
fanning off the heat, the rice is still sticky by nature.
If you leave rice in the fridge overnight, it becomes cold,
loose and dried up the excess water.
Hence, it is easier to loosen the rice that doesn’t make a
soggy , sticky fried rice.
Overnight rice gives a firm texture and chewy bites.

I have not tasted pasta sauce and so not used it in any of my recipes. With an expert cook like you I am sure it will taste good in the form you have used.
It seems so delicious to put some tomato paste in fried rice. I also had eaten and tried so many ways of cooking fried rice. But I never thought it is possible to use pasta sauces. I will try to have some fried rice with the special secrets you have shared.
Yes, its is delicious soup but I have not drunk it still in my own country I will try in my country to find it soon just for taste sake as you have written becomes very tasty.
