Our precious visitors

I no longer look forward to guests visiting me. I have been there and have done that since the last several years.

Ever since being introduced to the virtual world I am content with those that  I interact there,   sharing and seeking.

Not to say I am totally averse to receiving visitors in my real life. I have some special visitors that I look forward to seeing them every single day watching them frolic in our birdbath.

Yes. my visitors that I enjoy spending time with are birds. Our garden is specially designed to attract birds of very size, shape and colour. Although peacocks cannot climb up to the birdbath we see them occasionally. They too have enough in the garden to get attracted.

We have had a civet cat too not solong ago.

The birdbath that we have installed is for everybody be it crows, water fowls, pigeons, king fishers, woodpeckers, the list is endless.

I particularly like this tiny group of birds that are always seen around noon time when the weather is at its worst. It is a joy to see them having fun. They come in a group and I also hear their chirps perhaps having a chat among themselves telling each other how fortunate they are as nowhere in the vicinity they will find a birdbath. Our birdbath is tapered and these tiny babes will only be seen on the edge. They know if they go deep down they will drown.

Very rarely do I find them mixing with the other species, be they pigeons, crows or even egrets. The waterfowls are a peculiar lot. They do not mix even with their own kind.

It is worth watching them preening their feathers after a good bath in the bird bath. The tree close by serves the purpose. After resting for a while they will get back for another dip.

I am totally satiated when it comes to having company. I have enough.

    • oh those birdies are so cute and adorable!

I wish I could have such foreign birds around my garden.

I do make a bird feeder out of milk cartons but only the black crows came buy and damaged the feeder instead.

      These are vandalize rs

Anyway, it would be nice to sit back and relax at the patio or balcony to watch birds bathing and feeding on the seeds.
Nature watch is the best from real view than on the TV.

      Thanks for sharing with us

    • Peacock and crow both are mysterious birds and recently I have written a full article on crows' caws color and congratulation plus it different cry. Read the article you will enjoy.

Most people call them peacocks, but that's only the correct name for male of this type of bird. Females are called peahens, and the whole group are peafowl. There are three types of peafowl in the world: Indian, green, and Congo.

Most people are familiar with the Indian peafowl, since that is the kind found in many zoos and parks. Indian peafowl live in India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, green peafowl are found in Southeast Asia, and Congo peafowl are from central Africa.

The Indian peacock has some of the brightest feathers, but the peahen is a drab, mottled brown in comparison. The male needs his bright feathers to attract a mate, and the female needs to be able to blend in with the bushes so that predators cannot see her while she is incubating her eggs.

A group of peafowl is called a "party" or a "pride"! The Indian peafowl is the national bird of India and is protected in that country. In the Hindu religion, the peafowl is a sacred bird, because the spots on the peacock’s tail symbolize the eyes of the gods.
