Most of us have observed this. While some are cool some will forever use their hands to get rid of mosquitoes that would settle on them. Some even say that the thick skinned do not feel when mosquitoes settle on them. Also some felt that diabetics would attract mosquitoes because their blood is sweet, or some do not bathe and because they smell bad mosquitoes get attracted to them. All these assumptions have created many embarrassing situations for those who are seen hitting mosquitoes and keeping a flyswatter close to them spending a lot of time on this rather unwelcome activity. But they can now be at peace as it has nothing to do with whatever is assumed. It has to do with the genes – their DNA.
It has all to do with the odour that our DNA microbes produce and this is different with different individuals. Even different parts of our body smell different. Mosquitoes, if one observes closely will choose which part of the body to settle on. Some settle on the hands, some on feet and so on. They get attracted to smells that the microbes generate. And as is explained above different DNAs have different microbes. Incidentally our body comprises of not less than 3 trillion microbes.
Research is underway to isolate what microbes are the cause for this and perhaps come out with a pill that could arrest the production of these odours that attract mosquitoes. .

Your Chance of Getting Mosquito Bites Could Be Genetic
Mosquitoes as we all know is a menace which cause Malaria and now Dengue a fatal disease.
At the moment there are coils, ointments and various other devices that are used to ward off mosquitoes.
At the same time those who have stagnant water in their property are penalised by the powers that be as stagnant water is the main source for mosquitoes to proliferate. Off and on a spraying operation gets underway to control the production of mosquitoes but sadly they have yet to be totally eradicated.
Hopefully all this could be history once the all important indispensable pill gets introduced.

Unique research, awaiting to see what are the results.
@PEEUSH TRIKHA
I too am eagerly awaiting as mosquitoes are a real menace and dangerous to our health and wellbeing.
In tropical islands of the Philippines, it is inevitable to have this insect. Dengue fever is too high, especially during summer season. As you've said, mosquitoes attracted to microbes produced by the body. Then, it can be noticed that body emits odor during the summer season. The best thing to do is prevention.
@Shavkat No amount of prevention or the attempts to eradicate them has met with success. That pill that this link is talking could be the only saviour.
