Yes. These are all general sayings given to us by our elders after great research and experience. So they are infallible. Still, we do not follow them. Of course, during the last stages of life when we are unable to move and no one around us to talk to we recollect these saying and give them appreciation. This is what we may call LIFE. Even then, they have got their own importance in life.

Wisdom is knowing God. It does not come so easily. We use the word GOD without any understanding. When we sit calmly and go on thinking about the things around us with introspection we may reach some stage at which we may arrive at a conclusion. It needs severe thinking. Can everybody think and understand the things? No. So God has provided various channels through which one can understand him. Even one can not understand, he may find the way to reach God. Reaching God? It is somewhat obscure. One can not reach God. He may get a chance to know God only. Reaching God is nothing but almost replacing some other God who are his favorite disciples. |

Yes . It is true that the sleep pattern changes due to various factors. The emotions, psychological fear, overthinking, age, medicine, atmosphere, temperature, do affect our sleeping pattern. But, one should accept that it is always the sleep after hard work that is good for health and the rest can be ignored. If we are not getting proper sleep, means that our intake is not spent to the optimum level. This will adversely affect our physical structure and may lead to even obesity. So what I do is I prefer food proportional to the work I do and never, not more than that. I try to keep my stomach empty at least to some level. |

It is believed that Pushamitra Sunga was a Saivite Brahmin Commander-in-chief of Bruhadratha who was encouraging Buddhism and even punishing those who do not follow the principles of Buddhists. At the same time, the Buddhism also had experienced internal squabbles. There were two branches one is called Hinayana and the other Mahayana. In spite of that, both were experiencing the Royal patronage and it was Hinduism which was in a delicate position for its survival though possessing vast scriptures of Vedas, Brahmanas, Suktas, Great Epics. As it was losing the patronage and the cruelties were growing more and more on non-Buddhists a timely massacre of Brihadratha put an end to the dynasty of Mauryas and subsequently drugged the grave for Buddhism which was by that time became almost similar to Hinduism. |

The short statured Ashoka was very ruthless and caused immense casualties during the battle of Kalinga. While he had got some opportunity to witness the victory in the battle suddenly he perceived the intensity and stubbornness with which the people of Kalinga were sacrificing their life for the sake of their land. This has turned and moved his mind and heart. Just this little thought has changed the entire scene. It turned his life into a mystic one. Then began the era of Buddhism which received his patronage. He not only became a Buddhist but also became its preacher. He sent embassies preaching the principles of Buddhism and missionaries under his son and daughter (Sanghamitra). Acharya Nagarjuna was a great Alchemist of all times who alone knows how to turn Iron into Gold. The education centres at Takshasila, Nalanda, and Amaravathi became world famous. Getting an admission in Nalanda was viewed prestigious during those days. |

I think each and every person will be suffering from one kind of depression or the other. But, the severity lies in experiencing the symptoms with frequency. If one experiences the symptoms regularly for 15 or 20 days they require some consultation or treatment from a specialist. These are all due to the activities of man-made creations. In olden days people were quite happy without any mental stress. They were working, earning, and taking a pleasure spending time with their families. But, nowadays they are doing everything but for the money only. They are searching for money even while spending time with their families which is actually meant for relaxation. |

Happiness does not know boundaries….everything past, present, and the future is the tools for happiness. If memories are of the past, experiences are meant for the present, and the inventions and discoveries are meant for future. |

Happiness lies in simplicity |

Thanks. This is a very nice article cautioning people what to do in case of emergencies. There are some people who by virtue of their ignorance meet with calamities. The fire accidents are common nowadays and in the villages as most of the houses are made of dry grass they catch fire easily even by a small fire from a match stick. The fire due to leakage of a Gas cylinder is really dangerous. Recently, there was leakage of Gas Cylinder. I immediately called the person concerned and got it replaced. I do not know that ringing a bugger alarm or ringing of a cell phone will also cause fire during leakage of Gas Cylinder. Better it is circulated to as many as possible by sharing it. Thanks . |

It is really interesting to read the post. I never knew that no birds fly over this temple and also about the flag fluttering always in the direction opposite to the wind flow. I also came to know about the archeological discovery of the dried river. Really interesting. If I happened to visit this temple I will certainly make use of this information. I remember well that there will be RATHA YATRA. I want to visit this place at least once just before the commencement of RATHA YATRA as we can not have the opportunity to see the Deity and the temple leisurely during heavy rush. |

It was for this day I tried to be in Banaras and watch the events there. But, I am unfortunate. I could not get His permission. I remained at home as usual and performed the pooja. But, this time the vibrations were very severe in me when I was chanting PANCHAKSHARI. I felt it within myself. It was really a great feeling. If everything goes properly I want to watch the event in Banaras at least in the next year. |

If time and money are not a factor I would definitely purchase a good world package tour and move out of the country spending in Star Hotels, which of course does not give pleasure after some time. So moving freely with locals, making new friends is another idea I could take up. Getting acquainted with surroundings thogh does not cost much the experience will be invaluable and memorable. watching sun rise and sun set at suitable places are some great experiences which everyone can not have even after spending lot of money. |

One should always remember that there are certain things which should be purchased offline. The online activity is not suitable for them. The purchase of shoes comes under this category. One should see the softness and the finish, the date of manufacture, the type of sole, the inner sole, the heel height, the shape of front and mid parts of the shoe etc.,One should wear and try them on for a few steps. If they are comfortable then only we should go for them. The brand of a shoe brings difference only in quality but not in the comfort. Sometimes, even the locally manufactured shoes give us more comfort than branded ones. There is nothing wrong in trying them. But, if the comfort is available with branded shoe one should purchase them instead of going for local stuff as the branded ones will be rich in their quality of the material. I had a great experience. I purchased a shoe just for the reason they are available with big discounts. Though they were branded one I could not feel comfortable. After wearing for two days there was some swelling in the knee portion and was unable to walk properly. I kept them aside and tried the regular ones I was using for my office. After a week I got some relief. I realized how important it is to test the comfort of a shoe at the time of purchase. One should also remember that the heel should be replaced frequently if the remaining portion of the shoe is perfect. This is also another important factor which should never be neglected. |

Oh..very nice about it. I started cooking for 3 years. I first acquainted myself well with the procedures to be followed. I studied the basics of cooking. The cooking experience was great. It was a big century in the debut itself. I cooked Potatoe curry and also Mango dal which surprised everyone. The next item was Chennai Rasam, and also Tomato Rasam. I really wondered how I could make them so nicely. But, the art of making Palli chutney was taught by a Tamilian. He was a master, Cheff. He taught me how to prepare it in a different way bringing more taste to it. It can be served for Idlis, Upma, and Dosas. He told me in a different way altogether. The method taught was a little bit cumbersome than the routine preparation which people generally follow. |

As age advances, people do suffer from sleeplessness. This is not only the factor but this may happen due to health conditions also. If one is running blood pressure, sometimes during nights suddenly this feeling develops and one can not sleep in spite of best efforts. The best way to come out of this situation is to come out of bed and spend time doing some useful activity. Listening to music, Listening to interesting songs, programs, watching good and nice programs on T.V is good. Once, the brain settles down it is better to do meditation for a while to have a good sleep. One should not do meditation immediately after getting out of bed. It may sometimes be fatal. So, make the brain settle slowly and then do yoga or meditation. |
