This Meandering Brook in Switzerland Took my Breath Away

My regrets have always been that I never got to play in the snow despite visiting so many snow producing countries. But when I saw this brook flowing next to my hotel in Switzerland I was glad it had not turned into ice.

I spent 5 days in Switzerland and there is nothing about Switzerland that I can criticise about.. Cleanliness just smelt all over – spic and span roads, manicured greenery with tiny flowers along the roads with the Alps as backdrop. The Malls and shops were so well organised and it was a pleasure to walk in and do purchases. My purchases were mostly chocolates.

I used to get up early in the morning accompanied by a few others and walk along this meandering brook. The water was crystal clear. It was a moving brook and the sound it made was music to the ears. The brook was surrounded by trees and bushes and some bushes were full of flowers – flowers that I had not seen before.

We would just walk and walk not realising how much of walking we did but we had to get back to sight seeing which was arranged – Mount Titlis, JungFrau, the Lucerne Lake and last but not the least a lot of shopping – mostly chocolates.

I sometimes  wonder if it is the people or the strict rules laid down by government that ensures a spic and span country.  Singapore is yet another country that comes under the category of a well laid out, clean country. The air that one breathes in such countries is pure and one hardly hears of anyone suffering from respiratory diseases. USA has this issue not because the country is not clean but because of those flowering trees that give out pollen that leads to diseases such as Asthma.

(The picture here is not of the brook that I experienced.)

    • That's really a breathtaking place to visit.I am not sure if I can tolerate the cold weather of this country.I had experienced this winter season before. All I can say it is not for me.I could travel here perhaps on Spring season.

      • You have to choose the right month. As I have mentioned in my post that brook had clear water flowing and had not become ice.

    • Wow, superb scenery, superb country, Switzerland is a very cool and peaceful country. We are so happy for you having visited the place and had lots of sight-seeing, so awesome journey.

    • Sometimes, it is so nice to read about others journey, as if i've been there in that place by just reading others story about it. But, surely it will be good to see those view personally.

    • I guess cleanliness comes from small population and implementation of laws.... two things people from third world countries will never know about. Beautiful place.

      • Those roads that are skirted by well manicured lawns with tiny yellow flowers bordering are sights for sore eyes.
