Before I went overboard with my Korean skincare addiction, there were other products (a bit expensive) that I have been using. I am quite lucky I get to try and use both cheap and slightly expensive products without issues so when I get tired of a certain product (or scent), I can change without thinking it might ruin my skin or cause allergies! The downside to that is that I can easily hoard these skincare products since I can buy as much as I want – grr!
When I was in Australia, I used to go to a laser clinic to undergo laser hair removal. Well, it all started with a Groupon/LivingSocial voucher as I got tired waxing my hair. I mean, waxing was really effective for me and sometimes, I use it to de-stress (I know I’m weird, LOL) but the voucher was a really great deal. I think it was about 75% off for a 6-laser session for my underarm and bikini area. I thought it would be nice to be able to get rid of my hair (semi) permanently especially in the underarm and bikini area – so I gave it a go.
For the love of God, I forgot the name of the clinic (whoops!) but still use one of the products I bought from them: OrganicSpa Blemish Control. It is like a really runny moisturizer (seems like an emulsion in Korean-skincare “language”) and made from organic ingredients. In addition to that, it has tea tree oil, which is proven effective to treat some basic skin irritation like rashes and itchiness.
I bought the product as recommended by the staff attending to me that I might need it in case my skin get inflamed after the laser session. To be honest, I didn’t have any issues like that with any of my sessions but bought the product just in case. I didn’t know any better since it was the first time for so it is better to be safe than sorry.
Every time I go home, I make sure to apply the product to the lasered areas. The product is really, really runny so even if I need about 2-3 pumps of it, I just get one pump at a time and apply to the skin before getting more. I don’t like wasting on products so I hated it when it oozed out from my fingers and land on the bathroom floor!
Applying it is really easy and quickly absorbed by the skin. I never encountered any skin irritation but didn’t like the smell! Tea tree oil has a “pungent” smell to me. The odor lasts for a while and it lingers for about half an hour or so. Especially when I use the product on my face to use as a moisturizer, it’s like the scent lingers for longer, maybe because it is applied so close to my nose!
Overall, I am OK with the product. I can’t remember the exact amount I paid for it but I think it cost me A$30 at the time I bought the 15ml bottle. If not for that, I might’ve just thrown this in the bin since I stopped going to laser clinics anyway!
