India vs New Zealand One Day Series :Amit Mishra Gives a Great Diwali Gift to India

In a series which was evenly poised, an event suddenly changed the whole dynamics. The series I am talking about is the Five match one day series between India and New Zealand, and which was even at 2-2 earlier. India had Virat Kohli in great form. He scored a great century at one of the venues to get a great win for India, chasing a tough total.

Others also pitched in with bat and ball. On the other hand, after a bad test series for them, the kiwis fought well in the One day series. They had Tim Southee, Kane Williamson, Corey Andersen, Bolt and Tom Latham in great form, and who helped Kiwis tie up 2-2 at the ODI at Ranchi.

So, going into the last One Day International at Vizag(short for the port city of Vishakhapatnam), one expected a tough fight by the kiwis.

India started well but still Kiwis restricted them to an attainable total below 280 runs.
Virat Kohli played well and made 65 and Rohit Sharma top scored with 70 runs, but later Kiwi bowlers restricted them.

It was expected to be a close match, but there was an unexpected twist.
The Indian leg spinner Amit Mishra spun a web of leg spin to doom the Kiw batsmen. Four Kiwi batsmen perished with a duck.

Mishra ended up with five wickets for 18 runs, his second five wicket haul after 2013.
Kiwis ended all out at just 79 runs.

They must be very very disappointed. They would also not have expected such a bi twist in the tale.
For India, Amit Mishra gave a great Diwali gift.

India had hoped to finish off the series at the Fourth one dayer at Ranchi itself, but their hopes were dashed by some good Kiwi bowling.

Next, we have the English team coming to India for a five match test series, and it needs to be seen how the series goes.

    • India have managed to wrap-up the five-match ODI series against New Zealand, after a five-wicket haul by spinner Amit Mishra helped the hosts register a 190-run victory over the Kiwis, in Visakhapatnam, on Saturday.

Fireworks lit-up the Visakhapatnam night sky, as Axar Patel completely cleaned up Mitchell Santner's stumps, to take the 10th Kiwi wicket on Saturday night.

Thsi 190-run win by India marked the end of the five-ODI series against New Zealand, as India takes the series 3-2. While the hosts will still be trailing the Black Caps in the ICC ODI Rankings, they will be happy about the fact that they won both the Test and ODI series.
