Ever since I get to know this cruise, I have been wondering how it is like to go for such a cruise.
Today I am going a bit further, I will write about it, and bring all of you on an imaginary trip.
Since I live in Singapore, I need to fly to London, and after the cruise, I will fly back home from Australia.
The actual trip will be more than 70 days!
This cruise trip that I made in my imagination is part of Princess Cruise World Tour segment.
I have booked a balcony cabin for this trip. I like to open the door to the balcony when the weather is fine. I like to sit on the balcony, drink coffee, eat cookies, and watch the sea and the sky.
This article will take on a form of a dairy, and I will list out the things I will do on places I like to go.
Let us start with pre-cruise:
I will fly from Singapore to London in first class. I like the fact that I can ask the flight stewardess to set the seat into a bed.
I can sleep very well on this flight.
After arriving in London, I will stay in hotel for three nights.
I will spend the time wandering round London, eating all the good food before I board the cruise ship.
I figure I will on weight on such a long cruise, so I might as well do more walking.
Cruise departure from London:
The cruise ship departs London (Dover) at 11 pm. Though it departs in the night, I will board the ship in the morning. I like to have lunch on board the ship, and take a good long walk through the ship.
Sea Days:
This particular cruise trip has a lot of sea days.
That means the ship sails in the open sea, and you do not get to see land.
I like sea days. These are the most relaxing of all.
I like to wait up early in the morning, and the room service staff will bring breakfast to my cabin.
If the weather is good, I will have breakfast in the balcony. That is the best way to enjoy.
The only minus point is that the coffee will turn cold very fast in cold weather, and the strong wind does not make eating easier.
After breakfast, I will go to the top deck to get a bit of sun, and I will walk round the deck as my form of exercise. There will be people doing morning exercise or zamba.
It sure is nice to watch all of them doing zamba.
My day includes visit to the library, taking part in the games, going to the casino, plus eating and drinking all the time.
When it is night, I will go to the theatre to watch the show or go up to the deck for the night movie on the large screen.
Cruise destination: Cork, Ireland
The first cruise destination is Cork, Ireland (Cobh – for Blarney castle)
Since the highlight of the destination is obviously the castle, I will make a visit there.
The destination highlights mention about kissing the Blarney Stone. I will pass on it. I do not want to contact any disease from the stone, no matter how magical it is.
Cruise destination: Sydney, Nova Scotia
Sydney, Nova Scotia is part of Canada, and it is a place that I am not familiar with.
Since I like nature, and I like to walk, I will take a trip to Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
It sure is great to return to the cruise hungry and tired.
If the weather is not good, I will take a coach tour instead.
Cruise destination: Boston, Massachusetts
If weather allows, I want to take a Freedom Trail walk. It sure is a great way to know your history.
If the weather does not permit outdoor, I will just go to the shopping district.
Cruise destination: New York City
I sure am glad that the management team of Princess cruise allows us to have 2 full days in New York.
Even then, it is not enough time to do justice to such a great city.
Statue of Liberty and Central Park are two must-see destinations in my bucket list.
I have read so much about it, and view so many videos about these two destinations.
If I have time, I will take a long walk in New York just to get a feel of the vibrant city.
Cruise destination: Bermuda (West End)
I have a chance to visit Crystal Caves in Bermuda.
It sure is a change from city scenery.
Cruise destination: Cartagena, Colombia
I never believe that I will end travel to Latin America. Cartagena, Colombia is the first port in Latin America. I will visit the old city.
Cruise destination: scenic cruising through Panama Canal
I remember taking a test when I was young about Panama Canal. I sure will be sitting in my balcony while Princess cruises through it.
Cruise destination: Manta, Ecuador
There are so many places of interests but we only have one day. I think I will visit Quito. I get to see the 16th- and 17th-century Baroque architecture.
I do not even know about Baroque until I visit Ecuador.
Cruise destination: Lima (Callao), Peru
We have two full days in Lima, Peru too.
The highlight is definitely the Pachacamac Ruins. We have heard so much about the ancient civilization of the Inca Empire, and this is the chance to visit.
Cruise destination: Pisco (San Martin), Peru
I want to visit the Paracas National Reserve. This is not a reserve for wild animals, but it is a marine reserve for sea lions, whales, and seabirds.
It sure is a change from the ruins of ancient civilization.
Cruise destination: Santiago (Valparaiso), Chile
I want to try the funiculars train ride. This is an ancient railway constructed about 100 years ago. There are 8 active lines, and I want to try a couple of them.
Cruise destination: Easter Island, Chile
The monoliths of Easter Island remain as a mystery for us. I do not think I can crack the mystery just by visiting and seeing them for myself.
If I manage to solve the mystery, I guess I will be famous.
Let me tell you one thing: we are just halfway to our cruise trip.
Bear with me. After all, it is a 67 days cruise trip! Anyway, I do not force you to come on a cruise with me! It is your decision to come on board!
Cruise destination: Pitcairn Island (Scenic Cruising)
I bet you have never heard of Pitcairn Island in your life. I have not heard of it either.
Pitcairn Island is a very remote place because it is halfway between New Zealand and America. It is really too far from anywhere to make it a popular tourist resort.
I am sorry that Princess cruise does not allow a visit onboard the island. We are just cruising through, and hopefully we can see the HMS Bounty shipwreck and the famous Galapagos Giant Tortoise.
I wonder if why they do not get more Galapagos Giant Tortoises to the island. At least the tortoises can share gossips.
It sure must be lonely as the only tortoise there.
Cruise destination: Tahiti (Papeete), French Polynesia
I will go on top of the famous Tahara’a “One Tree Hill” and I will go to the Tomb of Pomare V. I am not that interested in the history of this last king ,but I am interested in the building material of this particular tomb.
The building material of the tomb includes coral slabs and lava rocks.
This just shows that the people are very creative. A combination of material from the sea and volcanic area to make a tomb must be uniquely Tahiti!
Cruise destination: Raiatea, French Polynesia
Raiatea is just a unique place. It is famous for black pearl. I do not even know that there is a such a thing known as black pearl until I visit the Black Pearl Farm.
On the same day, I want to take a 4WD Excursion to explore the wildness of the island.
I want to explore the canyons, waterfalls and trails. I am sure I will return to the ship with body aches.
Cruise destination: Cross International Date Line
This is strictly considered as a destination, since there is nothing to see when in this mystical location known as the International Date Line.
However, the sailors will perform a special rite when they come to this point.
This will make the new sailors become part of the Sacred Order of the Golden Dragon. Sounds like something out of the ancient world!
I sure will watch it.
After this magical line, Princess Cruise ship officially departs the west to sail to the east.
Cruise destination: Auckland, New Zealand
Finally we reach Auckland, New Zealand. I am tired of the sea after so many sea days.
I almost jump out of the ship when I sight land.
I visit the Glowworm Grotto just for the sake of seeing the glowworms.
I have never seen glowworms in my life before. It sure is a great experience.
The only disappointment is that this particular cruise stops at only one place in New Zealand. I would like more days in New Zealand.
Cruise destination: Sydney, Australia
The Blue Mountains is the only destination I have in mind for Sydney. If weather is bad, then I will visit the Sydney Opera House.
I just hope for good weather, I can spend my whole day in the Blue Mountains.
Cruise destination: Brisbane, Australia
I think everyone knows of Gold Coast in Brisbane, Australia.
This is my second choice in Brisbane. I want to visit Mt. Tamborine. I want to breathe in the fresh air, and look at the vegetation in this fertile volcanic land.
If the weather is not good, I guess I rather spend the day in the famous casino in Gold Coast.
Cruise destination: Cairns, Australia
Great Barrier Reef is not something you want to miss in your life. I will regret it deeply I miss it.
Not matter what happen, I want to see the beauty of the barrier reef.
It is too bad that we have only one day in Cairns. If a storm is brewing, the trip to Great Barrier Reef is not going to happen.
I guess I will just wander round the city if there is a storm.
Cruise destination: Alotau, Papua New Guinea
I hope that cannibalism is not practiced in Papua New Guinea today. I sure do not want to become someone else dinner.
I like to take a look at the way they celebrate Alotau Cultural Festival.
Cruise destination: Darwin, Australia
When I reach Darwin, I get homesick. I have been away from my home for a long time.
Darwin is the nearest place to Asia. If the cruise ship sails on to Asia, I will reach home.
Lyons Cottage in Darwin reminds me of home. The cottage is built to the style of Singapore and Malaysia.
I like to visit Territory Wildlife Park to take a look at real, wild crocodiles! I will be careful!
Cruise destination: Kimberley Coast, Australia (Scenic Cruising)
I will be on the top of the cruise ship with a binocular to watch the marine wildlife.
Though I prefer to be near and close the water from small boats, it is good enough that the cruise ship takes us slowly through the extensive coastal areas to catch sight of the wildlife.
Cruise destination: Broome, Australia
I hope to see the dinosaur footprint in low tide at Gantheaume Point.
The red rock formation will make a great background for great pictures. I think I will get my family to pose in different positions with the red rocks as the background.
Cruise destination: Geraldton, Australia
This is the last port for this cruise before we depart in Fremantle.
I have a mixed feeling by now. I am sad that the cruise is ending, and I want to make great use of my remaining time on board the ship.
At the same time, I miss home. I miss all the nice food that I have taken for granted at home.
There is Lobster Factory in Geraldton. I definitely pay a visit. I love lobsters, and it is terribly expensive.
I do not have much interest in learning about the farming of lobsters, but I am deeply keen to have the lobsters in my stomach.
Debarkation: Fremantle, Australia
The ship reaches Fremantle very early in the morning.
We can debark from the ship by 7 am.
It is truly the time to say goodbye to everyone. I will especially miss my balcony cabin.
After 2 months in this cabin, it feels like a home already.
I do not intend to spend another day exploring Fremantle. I want to get home as soon as possible.
There is a wait for the flight at the airport, since I book a late morning flight.
I travel first class again, so I can sleep on the way home.

I think after all this travel, you would almost need a flight around the world so you could sleep off your exhaustion!
I am now very tempted to write my own entry for this writing challenge. Once I am assured of cashing out, I will have to take the time to research my imaginary cruise....
Also, I want to say that I am Stumbling and sharing your links across several social networks. I hope it attracts some attention to these challenges, and that more people will come to take part :)
