I am a big fan of dying my hair. I love having my hair in diferent colors but last year i over did it a little to the point that my hair is fairly damaged. I am now (trying) to completely repair it and grow it out to healthy hair but it isn’t easy. I don’t like having my hair the same color for too long. The last time i dyed my hair was the first week of February this year and i promised myself that i wouldn’t dye it for at least another 6 months.
This is torture because i see my hair fading away the colors i had and it gives me a huge urge to dye it again, especially when i have the dye at home.
Last year alone i must have changed my hair color a bit of times. I had my hair red, purple, marron, then changed it up to half pink and half purple, then to half blue and half red. After this i ended up dying it black again because of my brothers wedding. Mostly because my mother didn’t want me to have some weird hair color at the wedding.
After a hile i started to try dying half of it red and the other half black. I have tried at least three times and only this last time is when it decided to get brighter but due to all the dying my hair has got quite damaged and now i need to give it a big rest and treat it well to get fully repaired.
What am i doing to repair my hair?
I am using a hair mask from Treseme for reparing damaged hair and the shampoo also. After taking a shower i put some argon oil on my hair to restore the lack of oil that it has. The damage made it quite dry also.
Every month i snip of the ends to help the growing process also and to remove all the damaged hair.
Every week i try to make a natural mask with eggs, olive oil and conditioner because it helps restore the protien in my hair that i am missing.
I try to find other ways also to treat my hair at home but recently i have been doing this for now. It is going to be a slow process but i am hoping to get the damage under control so i can finally dye my hair again but this time with more time between dying to make sure i don’t damage it so much.
Hopefully i will find the perfect mixed up treatment to effectively repair my hair and next time i will try and take more care of it when colored.
Just like tattoos and piercings there comes a point that it turns into an addiction and it is so hard to stop. I am trying my best to not dye it despite the fact that i am dying to do so.
Let’s hope i hold on the required time to repair my hair before doing more damage.

This is a big industry in our country of hair styling and other allied services. What I found is it is too costly. Once someone goes for these facilities there are several sittings and one needs to go there for the upkeep of their hair. This ends up draining lots of money from ones earnings. Anything if done in moderation is fine otherwise we are asking for trouble.
Best thing is to go for home remedies and use remedies which are easily available and show immediate results. Like using the aloe vera, leaves of hibiscus mashed, henna or other such things and apply the same to ones hair especially during weekends as this process takes some time and needs to be done at a slow and calm pace. Using shampoo I have found in some cases it triggers dandruff problem too. Take care.
