Fashion trend setters and their queer designs

 

So much thought went into designing fashions in our days. There were soothing colour combinations, even hems and matching sleeves and  even neck lines. That is history now.

Every blunder that they commit becomes a trend. The trend setters and fashion designers seem to be working hand in hand. Asymmetrical patterns and designs seem to be the order of the day.

How can one explain the weird fashion of having one  sleeve short and the other long?  How can one explain the reason to expose one’s innerwear?  We would be so embarrassed should the strap or our petticoat showed a little. We would run to the restroom and put everything in order.

The hemline is the worst offender. The tailor does not bother to spend time on giving the hem a evenlook. Instead a piece of cloth is picked and finished with all the ups and downs that hemline will finally show.

I was astonished to see a dress that hung on one side right till it reached  the ankle and the other end went up right above the waist the whole leg showing. Wonder what could have been the reason for this mishap.

The end users will go for anything as long as it is trendy and some fashion designer who has managed to get a name for themselves produces such weird clothes.

The  patchy jeans tell yet another story, not to talk of jeans that have a worn out look.

And what about the wrinkled clothes that look as though someone has woken up from their bed. And this too is trendy.

How can I forget that lovely dress that I wore – a gift from my sister – perfectly stitched with a pattern that was difficult to produce yet the tailor taking  time over it;  springing on me a pleasant surprise.

I am hoping to see those old days back which have had some semblance of order, colours matching, no messing of prints, with everything well defined.
