Escaping the Madness

She tried to live in comfort but oh what comfort is there when there’s disturbances all around?

What awfulness that surrounds the woman trying to “prosper.”

What kind of people could be so shallow to think that the woman doesn’t deserve to elevate?

The African American woman certainly has been through many storms. Some of those storms took her by surprise but she overcame them. She often thinks of finding that place where there’s laughter and harmony. The accomplishments she’s obtained could be digested by some who are so disturbing that they’re living life through her life. She often seeks comfort with the Living God and Jesus. They’re always there and never will the Father and Son forsake her.

She screams, “Thank you God for the “Armor of God.” She appreciates what Jesus had to sacrifice in order to wash away not only her sins but sins of everyone. How can people be so cruel and lack compassion she often asks? Through it all the African American woman continues on. She’s learned to block out those things that will offer no peace. She learned how to escape from the madness that is generated by some people who just don’t get a lot of things.

She’s chosen to focus on people who are caring and kind. Ones who aren’t concerned if African Americans grow. The woman continues to read and pray. She’s accepted that not everyone will have a heart and understand her. Her peace can be obtained by the sounds of the ocean and the birds chirping outside her window pane.

She’s closed her door to ponder a bit. For those who appreciate her are the ones she’ll allow in her life. For those who created chaos for her she’s tuned out and has moved on to the appreciative ones. She’s learned that she’s unable to spread herself thin. Not everyone can be helped at least not by her. She focuses on achieving more and more each day.

Her voice will be heard even if her voice trembles. Not in fear but in the weight of trying to tackle so much at one time. She continues to move forward and focuses on helping the ones who believe in “growth.” She’s happy and knows that blessings will continue to come. She’s faced hate, attacks, and madness. Yes, madness, some people just can’t see her living a life that she deserves. Some aren’t too pleased with any African American rising. Whether man or woman. She understands that some will always think that way but she continues on. She’s escaped the fantasies that so many are still living in.

Her mind is focused on the reality. She’s not concerned with what others will try to do next. She’s kept her armor on and continues to stay connected with the Father and Son. She’s decided to not waste her time with people who don’t appreciate her. Her time is valuable just like anyone else’s time. Through every challenge she’s faced. She keeps moving and pursuing.
