Do You Also Include Brushing Your Tongue? It Is A Must

How many times do you brush your teeth in a day? We usually brush three times a day after breakfast, after lunch and after dinner. Dentists advise everyone to brush teeth before and after eating, meaning six times a day. I have not tried to brush my teeth before and after eating, usually after eating. I do not know in your case how many times you brush your teeth. My friend, a Chemist, brushes his teeth once a day. All he has to do is floss and floss, but he is wrong for after a year, he observed cavities started to building the surrounding are of his teeth, meaning flossing of water cannot kill the bacteria but rather multiply there and build their own wall thus letting the teeth decay. If decay one a time. Before it happens, you have to do the recovery of your teeth, but how, no chance at all and see your mouth empty, LOL.

The problem of having tooth decay is bad breath. Having a bad breath person leads people to think of your tooth problem. Whenever there is a tooth aching and turns decaying, better see a dentist to schedule for the pulling of that damaged tooth. It would keep on aching and bad breathing. Not only that, the bacteria travels to other part of your teeth thereby creating plaques and cavities forming around an area or as a whole part below or upper part of your teeth. Soon artificial teeth will replace the loss teeth to feel appearance better when smile or talk to friend or colleagues. We usually noticed those having teeth problems, cover their face when they talk. I asked someone why cover her face, she answered she is ashamed for she losses teeth in the lower part / jaw. She also said she has bad breath no matter she flosses because there are some teeth that are damaged. I advised her to see a dentist and have the damaged teeth pulled. It is not a happy feeling indulging with a problem of losing teeth because the person does not care his teeth.

There are also others despite no problems of their teeth, they have bad breath. They speculate many things why a friend or co worker is having a bad breath when she has no problem of her teeth. It is not a phenomenon, but scientifically proven that those having bad breath may have problem of their internal parts, indigestion, and the food they eat supports some contention as one factor of bad breath. But the truth behind it is discovered and it is about our tongue that might not be included during the brushing of the teeth. What do you observe to yourself? Do you also brush your tongue after brushing your teeth? Others might brush and others might not. In my case, I do brush my tongue; in fact, it is me that told my family, friends and co-workers to include brushing the teeth. I got this idea from my cousin a Medical Technologist who told me it is necessary to include brushing the tongue for bacteria stick in our tongue that causes a bad breath. In brushing, it should be done in a careful manner to avoid harming the skin of our tongue.

We brush and floss before and after eating or thrice a day but could we also do a service to our tongue in order to attack the bacteria that live in our tongue. How bad to see them multiplying and attacking so bad breath is at its worse. Dentists say that we have to clean our tongue to make it healthy. There are tongues that are blackish in color; red, pinkish and such color is permanent. I thought that blackish tongue has some problems. I ask the dentist in the university where I am teaching and he told me that tongue turned blackish is stained of the foods eaten. He also added that it might have not been brush by the tongue owner. Try to let your family members tongue out to check their tongue’s color. It might be blackish, if not, fine, so advised them too, to brush their tongue. Dentists say that our tongue is covered with bacteria. Look at your tongue; it is flat so bacteria can like to accommodate any part. It is necessary to scrape them off to avoid a bad breath and other future problem we do not know only dentists and medical doctors know.

Though they do not create cavities only in teeth, but the bacteria mounted and lived in our tongue is one main reason why having a very bad breath. Bacteria in our tongue will accumulate unstoppable in the areas of our tongue between the taste buds and other parts. Bacteria are not smooth dentist said. There are elevated parts of our tongue and the crevices and elevations all over the tongue are the best places the bacteria hide unless they are removed. Hey have to be removed to avoid total accumulation. It is not the saliva that causes the bacteria to accumulate, but a biofilm called group of microorganisms that stick together in your tongue. The drinking of water and the mouth washing cannot kill the bacteria. They remain in your tongue, so better scrape them all slowly but surely. The bacteria in our tongue is hard to kill because they are in group, the biofilm and they can hide anywhere in the elevated part of the tongue or side by side of the tongue.

Having a bad breath makes you feel insecure for what you smell in your mouth is what people smell too. • Our tongue is very sensitive, fleshy so we can expect better hideout of tongue bacteria. The may not create tartar to harden our tongue but bacteria from it might travel to other parts of our body. Let us be healthy all the time.

    • Tongue brushing is as important as teeth brushing but brushing the tongue is not exactly comfortable.

    • @Ngiam Kee Wei , hahaha, that is true that is why when I brush my tongue I feel the discomfort.I cannot brush well side by side only the taste buds part. I just gargle well to kill the bacteria. we can feel our tongue becomes smooth after brushing, but avoid eating another after brushing, you can taste a food well, seems dull taste only after some hours.

    • Well said. When i wake up in th3 morning i get to brush my teeth first thing I cannot eat or put anything in my mouth before I brush my teeth. I feel very uncomfortable the thought of having bacteria in my mouth is so real. We all know that bacteria lives in our tongues it's not even on our teeth or the gums. The tongue holds a lot of bacteria and that's what we need to take care of before we can eat anything.

    • @Anitah Gimase, Hi friend? Thank you so much for sharing your valuable thoughts and feelings of this blog, very much appreciated. Yes. true, it is not the teeth not gums having bacteria but our tongue. The bacteria sticks to our tongue accumulating there and causing bad breath, Thet must be destroyed even my a local tea.

    • I find it so discomfort brushing the edge of our tongue hehehe. It seems I like to vomit if brush side by side. I can only afford to brush my tongue at the middle part called the taste bud. I do not know if you too feel the same way I observe when brush my tongue at the side parts.

It is very much important to include brushing our tongue to get rif of bad breath and to avoid bacteria accumulation that may ruin our teeth,They are called tartar or mouth cavities.
