Depression And It’s Effect On The Body

It is said that we all feel depressed in some time and at some level during our lives. Each one of us has a different history and ability to overcome this mood change. Some experience light low moods while others have severe issues with it. There are many medications that help with individual issues. There are also other therapies that can help. But, for those who experience it for long periods they can also have biofeedback and psychiatrist therapies that can help.

For those who experience this mood disorder for long periods they may find that it also has different effects on their bodies. Below is a list of some that seem to be more prevalent:

1. Energy– The lack of energy or the desire to pursue activities is common with this disorder. The body will conserve energy and not feel like doing much only zaps the energy we do have. A little exercise such as short walks can do a lot to lift your mood.

2. Eating– Eating habits will change with our moods. We seem to either not feel like eating or we are ravenous. Having eating issues run hand in hand with depression.

3. Immune System-Not eating right or not consuming the right elements means that the immune system will be in dire need of improvement. You may experience seasonal colds and other health issues.
