CHANGE FOR PEACE IS EVERYONE’S INTEREST

Nowadays, it seems that everybody is longing for a change. Comparing the situation of the country today, to that of 20 or more years ago, peace and order are already out of proportion to violence and crimes. It is very frightening.

Turning on the radio, the T.V., the reading print media, and the internet, criminality is on the rise- murder, hold-up, and extortion, rape, robbery, and kidnapping. In establishments, vandal defaces newly painted walls intentionally.

There should be change. We should not depend upon the magnitude of our laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances but we should depend upon each individual’s attitude towards everything each can do. Where have all the good virtues gone? If we want to reform the society, it should start from the individuals then collectively reinforcing each other rather than weakening the process of change by just waiting for higher officials to do something. Then we can transform.

Do you believe that this society can transform for the better? Do you believe that this deteriorating situation can change? I believe that through the love of God and the great teachings of the Christian faith, the world could turn from moral deterioration. Then there would be a new era of love, joy, peace, and justice.

Social justice could only be achieved if each individual will take the lead to transform-the self, society, and the present world.

Whatever generation we belong to, we have high ideals and principles; to be clean, decent and honest. Of course, we are perfect but one thing is for sure, we could bring the greatest benefit of humankind. If only our moral, social, and spiritual life attempts to transform attitudes towards value-formation.

The longing for change only means the transformation of the kingdom of men into the kingdom of God by restoring stewardship of life that was entrusted to us.

Peace is the interest of all people, let us work together for that benefit of PEACE.
