Banish your loneliness with happy memories

There is this adage ‘water, water everywhere not a drop to drink’ That is the state of people in this world today The world is busting at its seems with population – it has already reached the 7 billion mark –   and everyone is crying hoarse about birth control and yet there is loneliness everywhere young and old alike.  Where have all  the people gone if they are not in anyone’s life? Who could have grabbed them lock, stock and barrel?  One need not go far to find the answer. The culprits are the gadgets and other paraphernalia. They have decided to stay put in people’s lives trying to woo them in every possible way.

There were days people needed company to go to the movies but now lounging comfortably at home one can see the best of movies. There is no need anymore to go to restaurants as home delivery has taken away the drudgery. Online shopping is yet another chore where one needed company and now there are countless online stores that will deliver goods at ones door stop. The less people one has in ones life the more time one gets to get glued to the gadgets which have exciting things to offer – lilting music, virtual chatting, limitless surfing on the net – all with a click of the mouse. Why would therefore people need people?

It is only those who have shunned the gadgets  feel lonely as there is no one around to give them company as they are engaged in   hobnobbing with the gadgets that have plenty to offer.

Loneliness per se is non-existent if one knows how to keep themselves busy gadgets or no gadgets. There are memories that one can muse over sitting in ones favourite corner and this pastime will kill loneliness without a word of doubt.

    • I agree with what you have shared. Depression causes health issues , both psychologically and physically. If we don't learn to give just enough time to think things through and indulge on the thought of too much stress caused by family issues, work issues and personal relationships, we might all end up getting into an asylum.

We need to give ourselves time to cope up with difficulties in life and be strengthened with the love of our family and friends.

    • Being lonely is just a state of mind. One should learn to be happy in one's own company too. My spiritual master says that if you cannot enjoy your own company then imagine how boring you would be for others.
One should be friendly but in case you don't have many friends then we have technology to keep us company. I consider books as my best friend which are always by my side. And above all, God is our best friend. With God by our side, we don't need anybody else.
