Appreciate Life Every Day!!

Our oldest son just called to tell us that a friend of his had died!!  I had seen some news about it on FaceBook, but apparently didn’t put names together. My son’s friend was in a pickup that collided with a semi truck that exploded on the impact of the crash.  Three people died!!  One of which was my son’s friend.  He was only 32 years of age.  He left behind a wife and children.

I was concerned for the state of mind that my son was in as he has been diagnosed with depression.. He also was labelled as PTSD.  He seemed to be active calling people of his friend.  I asked him how he was taking it, he was more concerned with his fiancee as she was friends with the family.  Hopefully they will stick together as soon they will be married and you stay by your partner’s side through thick and thin.

Earlier in the month another person we knew died in a SUV accident.  He was only 49 years old.  Now I understand when I was on a site and people that were in their 20’s hoped they lived as long as I have.  Of course, at first, I took offense to being OLD!!!  Then after chatting with them, I realized it was a compliment.  As I hear of news that people my children’s age are dieing, I realize that I am lucky to still be alive!!  It makes me appreciate life and it makes me sad that I have outlived some of them.

Sure, one has to live healthy, but no one never knows when an accident can happen!!  So you really can’t “prevent” yourself from dieing.  Death is a part of life.  The living part is the hard part!! 😉    It’s sad that when some one who you are close to makes you appreciate life.  I think we’re so busy with our work, our home, our friends that some times it takes a death to make us appreciate the life we are living and that at any time, we could take our last breath.  So, enjoy life today..it could be your last!!

    • Life is unpredictable in many aspects. Even if you plan your routines and have your goals, it doesn't matter if it is meant to be something else. I think we should live for today and make plans for the future, but not count too much on them. We can count only on things we can control.

    • That is unfortunately a part of life.
For us who have strong culture of Buddhism, and Hinduism in the country, we believe in karma.
That means whatever we meet in this life is a result of past deeds.
In the case of violent deaths, it is due to the deeds done in past lives.

    • That is very true. We face reality. We live according to others as if there is no tomorrow. And they are right. Living our life to the fullest could be possible if we value it as a gift given to us by God to serve His spirit children, to do well in our probationary life here on earth, and do faithfully our task to be with Him in the many mansions He has prepared for us. Thus, we should keep His commandments. Love our neighbors as ourselves. Be good to those who despise us and pray for them that they may realize what they are doing. I know if we are in the service to them, we are in the service of our God. So be it!

Living in the attitude of gratitude every moment of the day is my way of life.

    • Many of us may take life for granted without realizing th3 meaning of it all. We be a been given the free gift of life that we need to enjoy at all times and return and give God thanks for his goodness, but how many of us do that. All we think about is to live lavish lives and enjoy it to him max we hardly even think about tomorrow or the people around us.Life is beautiful thing and we are yo enjoy it at all times giving thanks

    • Life is given to all of us free of cast by God that is why we all do not know the importance of life and wasting our lives in doing trivial things with trivial peoples all over the world.

I don’t take even a moment for granted. I love deeply; I feel deeply; I live deeply. The intensity is part of my soul and with that intensity I choose to live.

Tomorrow is not a given; it is a hope.

Tragedy can touch us at a moment’s notice; sometimes it does. And tragedy is not only simply about loss of life; sometimes it can be about loss of what was. We have all suffered loss of some sort or another. A friendship is severed; a beloved becomes suddenly ill; a moment changes everything. And while loss can penetrate our being, it doesn’t have to define our every step. Or if it does, may it be for good.

Living life fully is not optional for me. With the knowledge that life can’t be taken for granted, I try to honor my soul and the soul of those around me. One of the people I admire most in my life, I admire from a distance.

This person actively engages in life; he does that which excites him and he pushes himself to the limit. While I do the same in different ways, I do not choose to do it physically. Unfortunately, I really can’t any longer; I used to. The good news is that I navigate other amazing roads and new journeys at every turn.

The words below resonate for me. While life is not a given and tomorrow might not come, I can still keep moving forward in whatever way works for me.
