I love trying out sample products! It allows me to check a new product if it suits my skin or at least, for me to know whether it is worthwhile to buy the full-sized bottle! It is always annoying to end up buying a product that doesn’t suit my skin, cause allergies, or having a nasty smell when used!
Jolse is a website I often buy from since early this year for my skincare products. Apart from the reasonable prices and free worldwide shipping, they are also really extravagant giving free samples for each order! I have received a number of free samples from Jolse – Tomatox Magic Massage Pack included.
Since starting with the Korean skincare trend, this item has been constantly on my radar. I always see it on auctions and read about it on various beauty blogs here and there. It is not cheap, so I was hesitant to try it so I was really delighted to see when Jolse sent me a free sample in one of my purchases, yay! The sample packet does not have an English instruction how to use this massage pack, so I had to find a beauty blog with the instructions.
One weekend, after I washed my face and patted dry with a towel, I took about 2-pea sized amount of the product and applied evenly on my face. It was really easy to apply it evenly. The texture was not as runny as the TD Emulsion serum I tested for Jolse weeks ago, it was slightly firmer. I’d say, similar to a mayonnaise. The scent was mild and refreshing – and despite being a “tomato-extract” product, there was nothing tomato-ey smelling on the product.
I massaged my face for 1-2 minutes and my face still has the white mask (my son even called me a cat when he saw me with the mask on my face) even after that. I think the mask will not be fully absorbed by the skin but I noticed that after 10 minutes, just before I wash the product off, there are only a few traces of the mask left on my face.
I washed off the product with warm water and was careful not to rub my face too much as I remove it. I washed it off with more of a splashing action and just used my wet hand to remove blotches of the mask still on my face. I wiped my face with a towel to try.
Now for the results. My skin definitely felt firmer and soft to touch after the mask. My face had tiny blotches of red at the time I used it and it helped to calm down the redness after I washed it off. However, the effects didn’t last too long. But despite that, I loved how nourished my skin feels after using it. That’s why I am contemplating of buying the full-sized version but only after I finished the mud pack I have inside my bathroom cabinet.

Now I used the Tomatox last night and for those of you who didn't have directions on how to use or couldn't read Korean or Japanese on the packaging box, these are the instructions for use:
1. Wash fash as you normally would with your usual cleanser
2. Dry your face
3. Apply an ample amount of Tomatox on your face and spread out evenly
4. Massage for 1 to 2 minutes
5. Wait 5 to 10 minutes with mask on
6. Wash mask off with lukewarm water
7. Use 1-2 times per week
8. Carry on with normal skin routine afterwards (toner, emulsion/lotion, essence/serum, moisturizer)
After my first use, my face was noticeably brighter and seemed fresh. It doesn't smell like tomatoes at all and it's a creamy white mask that has tiny black pearl beads (black pearl helps whiten skin). This mask also helps with redness and skin irritation as well. I currently use Black Pearl facial masks twice a week but I'm thinking about adding in the Tomatox as well.
And just an FYI these "masks" are NOT supposed to last forever. Masks are a quick shot of hydration to your skin. They are only supposed to last 1 to 2 days. Whereas moisturizers are 24/7 hydration to your skin. You should be using moisturizers DAILY and masks WEEKLY.
So do this tomatox really do work? I never image tomato can be use like that.
