If you ask me, there is only 1 challenge: if your audience wants a phone from Amazon, they will purchase from Amazon why should they purchase via you?
If you can answer this challenge, affiliate marketing works fine for you.
They have some trusted traffic
People need to trust you. It isn’t advertising which pay based on unique views / clicks which are easier than referring actual sales. Advertising don’t want you to have a trusted audience. They just want you to have some readers who are reading what you wrote.
Affiliate marketing, on the other hand works well for bloggers who have trustworthy audience. You are promoting a product and you want people to purchase it. They won’t do it provided they trust you.
The product being promoted is related to your website
Your website is related to “sports” while you are selling cookery recipe eBooks. And you think people will purchase them? You must sound realistic.
Here are 3 proven tactics which always helped affiliate marketers.
Sell digital but cheaper products
If you ask me about affiliate marketing, I would recommend ClickBank rather than Amazon / Ebay because
· The products range from as low as 5$ to as high as 100$. People are more interested in purchasing cheaper products
· The products are digital and do not involve shipping costs. This ensures in more commission over Amazon where most products are physical.
· This is new website. Chances are very less that people already know them. This ignorance will help you make money.
Learn from products you are selling
There are various tools which will tell you – who purchased which product. Use this analytics to know which is best selling product.
It is highly recommend that you launch your own product based on analytics which you learnt above.
For example, if an eBook on entrepreneurship is making 10x sales than any other product, it is HIGHLY recommended to make your own eBook on that. You can double your earnings.
Please purchase it yourself first
Most of the time, you have to endorse the product. People won’t actually believe unless you mention that you are a customer.
I agree that you can copy someone else’s review and repost it as your own. But, that is not likely to generate trust.

Many old-fashioned affiliate programs allow a buyer to add the email or referral details in an effort to account for affiliate sales, but this is certainly not the best way to track progress.
