A Rather Sad Little Scam

A newbie joined a particular writing site.   It was the first site she ever joined.  As she admits; “I wasn’t even on Facebook!”

She was so innocent that only the most evil mind could think of playing with her.   But, the site she joined was the infamous Bubblews.

She lived in India and made her little posts, and suddenly, she was getting a crew of visitors.  Not just any viewer or commenter… Famous Names!    Top Cricketeers!   Bollywood!   and they were all reading her work and commenting!!!!

She was so excited, it was the greatest thing that ever happened to her!

Every day, almost, some famous name would read her little post and Comment!!!!!

Her Celebrity crew would only make one comment, each.   So if she got a post from Rohit Sharma today she would get a comment from Anil Kapoor the next day, and maybe two days later Arlu Arjin.

She forgot she wasn’t being paid, that the site owed her three pay outs already.   She kept writing and writing hoping her favourites would read and comment.

Then the site went down.

Our poor heroine was bereft.  It wasn’t the money, it was the loss of her celebrities.

Then, over time, she began to wonder…

So she posted on another site, and everyone tried their best not to be too sharp.

A site like Bubblews doesn’t get outside readers.  There’s nothing on it that would show up in a ‘search’, Bubblews articles didn’t show up on a search.   Many were pathetic.  Sure, a few folks actually wrote readable items, but it was very lowly rated.

Famous people wouldn’t come on to such a site, nor use their real names, nor be so ‘inspired’ as to comment.

Not only was the little miss ripped off financially by Bubblws, she was made a fool of by the Admin which, no doubt, created the false accounts to play with her head.

Now it’s bad enough to be on a site which doesn’t pay.   It’s not so wonderful to duped into believing that famous people are reading your work and commenting in their OWN Name!

This is really a nasty trick to play.
