A NEW PAINT I GOOGLED OUT FOR FURNITURE AND WALLS

After a house is completed the compelling challenge we generally will have is to decorate the Interior walls of a house. Decorating the interior walls of a house is a challenge as every room has to be carefully observed and the colors need to be chosen for the interior walls depending upon the purpose of a room. Even a highly expensive house if not treated properly with an appropriate coloring of Interior walls looks dull and shabby. A small house constructed with limited funds can be made to appear grand and elegant by choosing good color combinations.
Nowadays, we got many brands of paints available in the market in various color combinations and touch. There are Acrylic paints, emulsion paints, Art paint, Enamel paints, and  Distempers. While distemper is the cheapest way of coloring the interior walls also it is mostly used in the painting of the external walls.

After googling thoroughly, I came across a variety of paint known as Chalk Paint which can be used comfortably for painting furniture as well as some walls. The specialty of this paint is being that it gives an antique look to the item which is painted on. But, the technique of buffing the item with Wax makes it shining. Both antique look and shining are the comforts we get with this paint. As, painting, some furniture with antique look make them suitable for a room having an antique look.  This product is not available in the Indian market but can be obtained online.  This is a cheap one with good quality. Of course, the taste differs from person to person. If one feels that it is costly to purchase online then it can be prepared at home with minimum expenditure.

PREPARATION

Things needed for preparation

Mixing bowl

Stirrer

Warm water

Plaster of Paris

Acrylic paint (color of your choice)

 

METHOD

Add 1/3  cup of Plaster of Paris to 1/3 cup of Warm water and see that the mixture becomes smooth. Add 1 1/3 cup of Acrylic paint to this mix. Stir up the mixture thoroughly. That’s all. Your Chalk paint is ready to use.

After the paint is applied see that it is dried completely on the surface of the material painted on. Apply some wax to the surface here and there and then rub it smoothly with a clean soft cloth. It gives a totally different look.
