Is Riding On A Tide Can Give You A Better Ride?

Will this follow in reality that riding on what others like can benefit us? Are you agreeable on this or not? I think this is case to case for not all what others want us to commit is beneficial. What if the clash wants to petition your boss and here you are close to your boss. Can you afford to sign the petition to oust or terminate your boss? It is so hard. What if your boss won’t be removed from your office all of you including yourself might be in danger of expulsion or transfer of location? It is not an easy decision to ride on what others like you to do especially if you are not a troublemaker. Others ride on what others decide to avoid trouble. There are colleagues dominant and strong who are not afraid to voice out an opinion or suggestion like during a meeting .Others just agree without thinking to avoid conflict and meeting might last too many hours hahahahaha. Nothing happens if you oppose for usually the majority approves a decision, plan, and intention of a leader in a system and group. Usually men are brave enough to overthrow any opposing contention of a colleague. I think it happens to any system; others just like to ride on what others decided in a meeting. I do not know if you have like this in your office during a meeting others just shut up during and after the meeting, so funny, right? Maybe they belong to a silent committee.

I can relate to you my experience. My former dean was petitioned by the faculty members in the college of engineering and architecture. The reason was her privilege speech during meeting attacking teachers without a valid cause. The time they formulated the petition papers, I was on leave, then when I reported back to work, our faculty president talked to me urging me to sign the petition letter. I was so shocked for I never knew their intention why petition our dean with such a not so valid reason. It is normal for a head to remind the teachers to do their job well for students performances rely on the teachers’ ability to teach figures. Of course, I refused to sign and there were only two of us among the 72 faculty members in CEA department that never ride on their intention to oust our dean. It was sad to say that they never succeeded and those teachers were investigated and it came out through students’ evaluation that many of the petitioners cannot teach well and they were advised to resign. There were 20 of them full time regular and probationary advised to resign and they received their separation pay, but job on loss. Our dean finished her graduate course in the University of Ohio and her doctorate at the University of California, U.S.A. She was a consistent scholar during her high school up to college and 3rd placer during the engineering board examination. She was only misunderstood. There is sometimes bad effect of riding on the desires of others. Better keep the mouth shut, and just wait and see.

There are times that we have to ride on the decision of others even in a community especially if such decision is carried over by a politician. Politics sometimes is so influential that it can cast people’s vote because of something. That something called vote buying is also called a riding on to what others are doing because of some immediate needs and the money received is thought to be money of the people that is corrupted, so no choice but to ride on to gain or not to gain just ride on for some expectations that you won’t be left behind in your community. That makes politics dirty having voters jive at your corrupted way to win people’s votes. Somehow people realized that what they had consented brought havoc to the lives of the next generation. This kind is a malady that may not be eliminated in the society where politicians are corrupt because others lack concern, they just ride on the decision of the body in a small group or entire community. “Riding On A Tide Can Give You A Better Ride.” This is case to case for there are those who jive on with a decision and opinion of others give a better end result. For example signing of a resolution for a salary increase and such will be forwarded to the higher management and if petition approved because majority signed, then good for you. You will be among the recipients of salary increase.

If you are a surfer at sea, you will surely have a better ride with the sea waves. You can toss yourself up and down, fly high and feeling successful for that is your skill as surfer you have to ride on with tides so you can have a better ride of your surfing. Those having no skill in surfing always dream someday they can make it. Sick. Further, those who are ashamed to talk during meeting belong to a silent committee and a group cannot benefit something beneficial from you. Sometimes we have to talk so your side will be heard, who knows your idea is more effective than that of the leader. Will it be okay to a group having only three or four people talking and arguing so they can get the right idea or decision? And you are just feeling happy listening? I think it is not good to keep the silence kill your voice for it is a must to contribute something in a group. What is required to get the consensus is if the group is in quorum or not. Why because meeting not in a quorum will be subject for postponement. During the open forum, others just ride on the discussion and approved what has been transpired. Do not just ride on; you have to speak out your opinion. Exercise your right. It is not good to keep only the best decision; unleashed it. It should be exposed to enhance better performance of everyone in a work force. Others do not talk maybe afraid to talk, LOL. As long as you know the agenda of the meeting or forum, there is no reason why can’t you share your valuable mind? Many heads are better than one head.

Riding on the tide to get a better ride does not follow all the time. This may conform to tolerance of a wrong doing in the community in general and to your family in particular. There might be a member in your family indulged with a wrong ride of the tide, stop that son or daughter. Give your child zero tolerance to a wrong doing.
