Why I don’t think Udemy is Worth Taking Hosting Courses

If you have ever searched for courses then you know that there are thousands of them in the Udemy. You can see that there are plenty of authors who are into this type of services. And they are building their own service with this. And I am not sure how many of them are in profit. But it seems that with time we can see that courses can make you profitable. Udemy has lot of good authors and the students, so it is kind of competition where you have to work really hard to sell your course. I have found that there are times when you have to invest into your platform. And it can be seriously hard to get back into the game of course creation. So let’s take a look at some of the reasons why you should avoid wasting time on creating course.

Commision

Most of the Udemy creators are sharing 50% of the revenue with the website. And that way they are making the half money from the course like they do with the course. So it can be profitable if the course is of high number. But last few months all the courses are set to the 10$ value. And this makes you wonder what is the point in putting on effort that may not make you much money. Here you have to work harder on the projects. And you have to decide what is a good use of your time. You can then choose to establish yourself on the basis of the amount of good feedback you get.

Flat Pricing

I think some of the time Udemy runs some courses and here the pricing goes flat. Like say 5$ for 1 day. And this means people downloading your courses end up being leak for your earning. And that can be one of the damage that may affect your course. You have to focus on the flat pricing. Some products and services work well with flat pricing and discount. But in the long run that is less likely to be good. I think many people have lost their efforts when their courses were sold for low amount. And that way udemy has damaged many course creators. So I think it’s not worth the effort with discounts and flat pricing.

Promotion

I think promoting the products as an affiliate can be good. But the commission is not that great. And also you may find that not many people jump on the affiliate commission. So it’s kind of hard to even recommend the products through affiliate channel. But with efforts that you can take it can make nice income. I can’t deny that. Some are making really good money from it. But they have to promote it harder. As there are many YouTube channels. You can see that promoting is where many course creators are going to lose a lot of money and time. With time this sort of skill can be learned but you have to take effort for the same.

That being said, I think teachable and few others are much easier platform to build with. So I suggest using them if you want to keep the profits.
