6 Tips for using Social Media

Using digital tools like Twitter, Facebook, linkedin, Instagram and blogs are fun and an effective way to increase the commitment of both your target market and your visitors.

1 Clarify ambition

The best way to learn how to use social media is to start using it. But, you have to keep in mind the purpose and the target groups you have. Decide how your social media presence should look like, who will do what as well as when and how often you will communicate with your audience. Think about the channels that suits your interests best and talk with colleagues who are already heavy users of social media. Do not select the channels that are not relevant to you.

2 Be open and personal

Social media is based on the fact that we are personal and we are committed to our values and our business. Decide who should write to whom, but it need not appear in every post. Communication in social media is fleeting and fast, while contributions can be captured and reproduced. Keep in mind to only write things that you can stand, both privately and professionally. You can request someone to double check before posts are published.

3 Engage others

Interaction is key to a successful social media presence. Engage others by generously sharing your world view and your knowledge. Give your followers ready access to your published articles, press releases, and other publicity. Share the videos, images and  links illustrating your values, your skills and your business. Encourage others to comment on your content and contribute your own comments to their work. Feel free to ask things, and be sure to follow up the responses.

4 Swear

Social media is all about dialogue. Therefore, it is important to respond to both the questions and comments that criticize and praise. If you respond quickly to what other people think about you, it creates credibility and encourages further engagement. He who asks a question to you expects a response. Do not miss the chance to give good service and to show that you care about everyone else who cares about you.

5 Use Facebook

Facebook is not growing as rapidly as before. But, it is the world’s largest social network. For pages, events and groups, it is an easy to use tool that allows you to reach people who are interested in you and your message. The person who is the administrator of your Facebook page has access to transparent and comprehensive statistics. You can set goals and report statistics on a regular basis with it. You can encourage your friends and fans to contribute content and ideas to your Facebook page. To increase their activity, you can also reward them in whatever way possible on their Facebook page.

6 Tweet

On Twitter you can reach many opinion leaders, policy makers and journalists. On twitter, you can retweet other’s posts, comment as well as answer. Identify key people in your area, follow them and their followers. Participate in current discussions by using hashtags. Watch what is written about you and your areas of interest by following hashtags and search for individual words.

    • great tips
I use facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest, Stumbleupon, Reddit, Linkedin, Tumblr, TSU to share my post url.

I do get external traffic coming in and once in a while, I am surprised that some of my posts comments were from users that I know from the other sites that I had participated.

Social medias are great place where you can generate more traffic but you shan't disclose any of your personal information there.
This is a dangerous place to do that.

Twitting, hastags , those are the things that I am trying right now.
New things to learn from you!

    • Leveraging the power of content and social media marketing can help elevate your audience and customer base in a dramatic way. But getting started without any previous experience or insight could be challenging.

It's vital that you understand social media marketing fundamentals. From maximizing quality to increasing your online entry points, abiding by these 10 laws will help build a foundation that will serve your customers, your brand and -- perhaps most importantly -- your bottom line.

Success with social media and content marketing requires more listening and less talking. Read your target audience’s online content and join discussions to learn what’s important to them. Only then can you create content and spark conversations that add value rather than clutter to their lives.

Quality trumps quantity. It’s better to have 1,000 online connections who read, share and talk about your content with their own audiences than 10,000 connections who disappear after connecting with you the first time.

Social media and content marketing success doesn’t happen overnight. While it’s possible to catch lightning in a bottle, it’s far more likely that you’ll need to commit to the long haul to achieve results.
