5 Tips to a Successful Ad Text

Even though it sounds like an exaggeration, well-written advertisement texts always have power. What makes a successful ad text? Here are five tips.

1.First attract attention

Advertising that is wrongly delivered, cannot work. If your ad text fails to get the requisite attention, no one will read it. And when they do not read it, they will never know that they were passed, what did you want to tell them. There are lots and lots of ways to attract attention of the people. The most commonly used and also well functioning is a good visual accompaniment in the form of an image or a photo. It also helps to a great extent,  if the ad is specific and at first glance, covers the target group for whom it is intended. Another way is the offer of something free, interesting or discounted for its unusualness. You can also attract the attention of the people with interesting headlines, provocative questions or news alerts and innovation.

2.Focus on customers

The path to a good text begins with the customer, not the product. Effective text speaks directly to a specific audience, identifying preferences, ways of behavior, attitudes, needs or requirements. The most common reason why the texts fail at this point is the lack of awareness of the person of the target groups it addresses. To write good and efficient ads, you have to dedicate your time and attention to the customer’s knowledge. Information can always be drawn from conversations with the target group, specialized publications, trade fairs and exhibitions or from direct research.

3.Stress the benefits

Most retailers are still selling features of their products and services. But customers prefer benefits and buy benefits. The customers does not care which features your products have. They only want to know how they will benefit from your product. So your aim should be to help them achieve their goals, earn or save some money, save time, be happier, look better and feel better. Successful advertising texts therefore emphasize the benefits and vividly describe the benefits of your product to a specific customer.

4.Distinguish yourself from the competition

The products and services on the market, from which customers can choose, is now as wide as ever. Even a small supermarket today offers several varieties of hair oil, different brands of shampoo and the amount of soft drinks of different color and flavor, to mention a few. Good advertising must therefore be able to project a jumble of competing divide.

5.Give proof

Benefits and product diversity are certainly useful, but rarely stand alone. This is because of the assertion stated by the manufacturer in the context of paid advertising. If you claim that your product is cheaper, tastier, faster and better and do not support it with convincing evidence, then the customers will simply not believe you. It is therefore appropriate that your ad texts give facts that confirm that you are actually able to deliver what you promise. For example, you can provide concrete results like examples of projects, references of satisfied customers, statistics and case studies.

    • I have not had the need to advertise unless one advertises their blogs. I have heard of Ad swaps where Ads are created and placed on media sites and they in turn place theirs in the blogs. What do you think of this method?
