West Indies Beat Zimbabwe in 1st ODI of series, 2013

Zimbabwe was scheduled to play a 3 Match ONE DAY International Series in West Indies in 2013. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as both are ranked at 6 and 10. The 1st ONE DAY international match was to be played on National Cricket Stadium, St George’s, Grenada, and West Indies on 22nd Feb 2013. West Indies holds the upper hand as they are more experienced team and playing at home.

West Indies batted very well and was able to post total of 337 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 4 wickets and with top scores of J Charles who made 130 runs in 111 balls with 12 4’s and 4 six at the strike rate of 117 runs in 100 balls and D Bravo who made 100 runs in 71 balls with 9 4’s and 4 six at the strike rate of 141 runs in 100 balls.

Zimbabwe was needed to score 338 runs in 50 over’s to win this match.

Zimbabwe batted well but was unable to chase the target of 338 runs and only able to make 181 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 9 wickets and lost the game by 156 runs with top contributions from M Waller who made 51 runs in 75 balls with 6 4’s and 0 sixes at the strike rate of 68 runs in 100 balls.

West Indies won the match by 156 runs and leads the series 1-0.
