Could you compel a person if he doesn’t want to continue his schooling? He has the reason why he has stopped from going to school. In school, the teachers have discussed the factors why a student stop schooling. Some of these reasons were sickness, bullying, distance from the school. It could also be truancy, dishonesty, or poverty. Those teachers worried so much on how they could bring back those school leavers.
In the Philippines, the Department of Education has adopted the alternative Learning system (ALS). Those school leavers regardless of their age could avail of this system. There are instructional managers to handle this education system. They personally surveyed those who hadn’t completed their schooling. They’re gathered in a venue convenient for them. They’re given modules to study as supervised by the IMs.
Their studies may reach for a month. Or so until they will get the acreditation and equivalency test (A&E Test). Once they’ve passed the test, they will be promoted to the grade which they qualified. It’s the Secretary of Education himself who signed their certificate of completion. This certificate is valid to any school institution they would like to enrol.
Some countries have a similar project for this. They call it as “no child be left behind”. The DepEd worked so hard. It provided the needed studies these school leavers, dropouts lack.
Not only those students should have to continue and complete their studies. Teachers are also required to have their continuing studies. They’ve to complete their masters and even doctoral studies. School heads are likewise encouraged to study more. They’ve to regularly attend seminar and workshop. They need to be competent on their school management of operations.
There is a saying that once a person stops learning, he stops from growing. Do you agree with this?

Stop learning. Stop growing. I agree. Get an education. If the traditional method of schooling does not work for you, find another way. But get an education. Being ignorant is only going to hurt you.
There are many ways to get the education a person needs. If he could have it in a formal education for he has no time, for he is working full-time, there is a non-formal education which he could avail of. It may either be a home study, a modular study, or this so-called alternative learning system (ALS),
