Sri Lanka Beat Australia in 3rd T 20 of series, 2013

Sri Lanka was scheduled to play a 3 Match T 20 International Series in Australia in 2013. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who batted very well  will be crowned as the winner after the series as both are ranked at 3 and 5. The 3rd T 20 international match was to be played on Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, Australia on 30th Jan 2013. Australia holds the upper hand as they are more experienced team and playing at home. Earlier ODI series end in draw 2-2.

Sri Lanka batted well and was able to post total of only 180 runs in 20 over’s at the loss of 6 wickets and with top scores of T Dilshan who made 70 runs in 35 balls with 5 4’s and 3 six at the strike rate of 200 runs in 100 balls and Dinesh C who made 35 runs in 35 balls with 3 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 100 runs in 100 balls.

Australia was needed to score 181 runs in 20 over’s to win this match.

Australia batted well but was unable to chase the target of 181 runs and only able to make 160 runs in 20 over’s at the loss of 9 wickets and lost the game by 20 runs with top contributions from U Khwaja who made 47 runs in 30 balls with 3 4’s and 2 sixes at the strike rate of 157 runs in 100 balls.

Sri Lanka won the match by 20 runs and won the series 3-0.
