Raven-Symoné and My Take on TV Talk Shows

Do you remember little Raven-Symoné? Little cutie first introduced to us on the popular TV series, “The Bill Cosby Show”.

(BTW: Really sorry to hear about what Bill Cosby is going through with the various allegations about sexual misconduct or criminal acts. Such a great talent and he made quite a mark in the entertainment business. However, if it’s true that he did what they say he did? Nail him!)

But I digress. This post is about Raven-Symoné of “That’s So Raven”. She was also the voice of Iridessa, one of Tinker Bell’s tiny fairy friends in the popular animation films about Disney Fairies. She was also one of the original Cheetah girls. Could go on and on about this lady. But here’s the bottom line, by the time she was about 25 years old, she didn’t need to work any more cause she was stinking filthy rich! She was an icon!! The girl has her own clothing line and dolls!!

June 2015, the buzz was that she was picked to be a co-host of the TV talk show “The View”.  That is evidently BIG! Good for her. “The View” is only a talk show that I never watch and now that she’ll be co-hosting it will still NOT be on my watch list.

Fact is, TV talk shows really aren’t my thing. American TV talks shows, that is. Rather like the foreign ones though. Like Koffee with DD . 🙂 

Actually, to be fair, back in the day (as in throwback) on US television when there were awesome guys like Dick Cavett and David Frost ~   those were real talk shows.  Don’t know what happened but the interest in those kinds of shows has diminished for me.

If I were going to recommend a talk show as of today, April 2017, it would have to be Tavis Smiley . His show airs on PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) and even though I am not a regular viewer, whenever I do tune in, it’s not time wasted.

Do you have a favorite TV talk show that you really enjoy because it keeps you informed about your favorite celebrities or because the host invites guests who have an opinion about “large life matters” ~ current events and problems facing the world today ~ and who can express themselves clearly with facts to back up their ideas and thoughts?
